Blender on OS4.x?
Quite a regular
Quite a regular

See User information
Hi everyone...

I'm still new to the OS4.x community. Since the arrival of my sam440ep I'm trying to install mostly PPC-native software. Coming to 3D software packages:

In some threads I found a OS4.x-native port of Blender mentioned (I suppose by one of the Frieden brothers).
Is this true - and more important - is there any chance to get hold of it? Or is it not intended to be public?

Cheers,

CE

I think that they will release Blender, as well, many other programs/games after there will be the update for amiga os..

It seems more or less done since 2007 :-/

Blender does not yet work reliably, since MiniGL is still missing some features.
Since I haven't got the time to do any spare time Amiga projects anymore, it's been dormant for quite some time.

Because i think that you wish to work first on the operatying system and then release the software..

Sigh...

Such a good idea to duplicate efforts instead of working together...

He probably didn't know you had some sources on your HD. You can't blame him for that.

Duplicated work or not, I think we should be happy that there are people out there who are working on bringing nice software to OS4 and as Elwood pointed out he may not have known about your efforts of porting Blender with MiniGL. Might be worth sending the guy what you have.

Sorry if I stepped on anyones toes here, I didn't set out to compete, just had an immediate need for the prgram (fed up with switch to linux all the time) and had a look at the source and suddenly was on a roll.

In consultation with Hans De Ruiter I've tracked down a few of those remain minigl issues. The only major one left is depth buffer access. In fact I emailed your brother about that yesterday, perhaps I should have coppied you in on that, sorry.

I hope you will contact Thomas directly and share information and code to get Blender out ASAP.

It would be great to have another application even if I probably would never use it but you never know.
