Do we need a Porting Section?

In light of the advancement of Spots Guide to the universe of Coding and Porting, I was thinking, perhaps we need a seperate forum for this very thing?

If you pick a project you start a thread and update it with progress and information and how you overcome this and that? Of course you can ask for assitance there too.

Perhaps there is other places more suited for this but I just got a brain storm... I can't go first with starting a thread because I am not ready LOL but will do something down the road...

Once I settle down from buying different SAMS I will focus on something!

What do you think? Spot?

Existing Coders can help and could possibly learn something?

I know we have an OS4 development section but this isn't for Creating new Software from Scratch...

Hmmm, I could possibly be interested in completing the porting of TBAMud at some stage for example...

edit: after a careful revisit to the forum section I see there is something pointed to 'Open Amiga' ... I dunno, I kind of still like this idea of mine

no... i have problems with it, as it's mixed binaries atm in the latest version. clib2/newlib.

if you tell me how you build it i could build versions for both clib2 and newlib, and package it like proper libraries as it should be. then manual builds wouldn't be needed. you could use makefiles and configure scripts as is.

Remove "#define fd_set int"

from include/vga.h and src/vga.h

Compile svgalib..

cd Work:svga/svgalib-1.4.3/
cd obj
delete #?.o
cd /src
make
cd /gl
make
cd /threeDKit
delete #?.o
make
cd /demos/prog
delete #?.exe
cd /

you only need obj/svgalib.o to compile flury

gcc flurry.c -Wall -o flurry ../svgalib-1.4.3/obj/svgalib.o ../svgalib-1.4.3/obj/svgagl.o -I ../svgalib-1.4.3/src -I ../svgalib-1.4.3/gl -I ../svgalib-1.4.3/include -lauto -lm -D__USE_INLINE__

Obs you need 320x200 as mode in devs:Monitors/Radeon
VSYNCMIN=60
MODE=320x200@60

=) i hope this version should make things even simpler for beginners and slackers (like me) with the aliases and scripts.
it makes it really comfy to compile stuff with minimum effort.
