3.13 (15.5.2009) - Updated to SVN revision 938. - Fixed text selection when used together with mouse wheels. - Fixed bugs.os4depot.net issues #143, #147, #150, #151, #156 and #159. - Added support for the locale charset when pasting texts from the clipboard. - Moved the large ICU data into a shared library. - Enabled textarea resizing. - Fixed http://crashlog.os4depot.net/cl190 cl191 and cl193. - Unsupported protocols like mailto: can be passed to an external program now (tooltype OPENURL). - OWB now tries to create the font families itself since a lot of users use wrong .otag files. - Implemented text search (bugs.os4depot.net issue #45).
Wow, the way search is implemented is really cool, impressive :)
Only one issue found so far, when I clicked Reply to start writing this message, I couldn't see the cursor, but looking closer it's there, just that when it's in the beginning of the line, it's actually inside this blue frame area, making it difficult to notice. I guess there should be a few pixels wide margin around the text as even the letters appear to flow into the edge of the text area.
By the way speed is really snappy, the same page is loaded in a noticably shorter time than with Firefox 3 on our brand new Core2 Duo laptop connected to the same network.
yeah! textsearch! i missed it a lot!... my three wishes for the next version:
remove the freeze/timeout when a faulty/wrong url is entered.
hotlink buttons like in ibrowse, configurable, so that well, you can have a row of buttons under the toolbar with links. i use that function a LOT in ibrowse.
downloadmanager, i do understand that this might take a while to implement though. :)
i found a critical bug in this version, i opened a new tab with amiga+n, and the url from the site i was visiting was visible in that one too, shouldn't it be blank? and ... i can't type any url in the new tabs.
- Unsupported protocols like mailto: can be passed to an external program now (tooltype OPENURL).
Given the latest posts here and on AW.net about Gnash, does this mean that we can call a gnash function in this way, or is it just by tooltype?
SWF doesn't use an own protocol, it can only be used for links with protocols like mailto:, news:, etc., which aren't supported by OWB.
For NPAPI plugins like libgnashplugin.so I'll have to add some AmigaOS 4.x specific implementations in the plugin parts of OWB, currently only the GTK version of OWB supports plugins. The main problem with that is that there are no AmigaOS 4.x plugins yet, and without a plugin I can't test it ...
Installed OWB 3.13 just a few minutes ago and posting now.
@joerg
Smilies pages are working just fine now. Thankyou so much. I don't use smilies very often and was very surprised when the smilies pages caused a crash in version 3.12.
- Implemented text search (bugs.os4depot.net issue #45).
This is a very good feature! but I would like it refined slightly..
1. when you press enter to search, I'd like the "search next" gadget to be activated, so pressing enter again will search again without needing to click anywhere else again..
and 2. if you implement that, can you make it search from the top again if its at the very bottom?
What about the IBrowse NPAPI flash plugin? Can't you test against that?
No, NPAPI plugins are shared objects, the IBrowse plugins aren't.
@Hans Quote:
It's been noted before, and no doubt the NPAPI on OWB will be made compatible
If someone else wants to add support for IBrowse plugins that's no problem. OWB is open source, just implement it and add a patch to the OWB trac, or send it to me. I wont implement support for AWeb, IBrowse, or any other custom plugin system in the AmigaOS 4.x port of OWB, I'll only implement support for standard NPAPI plugins.
