Gotcha! mine arrived Friday just starting to put it together,I even read the manual :) God I must be getting old, will take it easy with the case usb though, it has single wire conectors. I've downloaded the pinouts so I should be right. Should have it up and running this evening (have to take the old girl out to lunch part of the deal:)

let us know how you got on... I have a bit of a problem at the moment, I have to move so much stuff around... I brought an entire cpu collection at the end of last week and I must make room!

I'm waiting for my first new Amiga PowerPC after years, just ordered it a week ago directly from ACube a complete Sam Flex 800 machine with 1GB DDR Ram with "Vento" Case model, keyboard and mouse Logitech and naturally AmigaOS 4.1



Hope to receive all package next week or similar !

A warning to new Sam440 owners: If you are installing it into a case yourself, then BE VERY CAREFUL about connecting the USB cables to the Sam440 mobo. If you get it wrong then there will be a short-circuit, a burning smell, smoke, and potentially damage to your expensive Sam440.

Yes Chris is right take great care I downloaded the pinouts and double checked them before connecting and everthing is working as it should:) I have installed OS4.1 and it does seem to load quicker, opening windows and foders seems quivker too. I still have to tidy up the wiring and I'm thinking of puting a fan and heatsink on the cpu anyones thoughts on this do you think it needs one? All in all I,m impressed the only thing I dont like is the clutter of sata cables under the rear of the graphics card theres not much room. I,ll do some testing tonight and let you all know whats happening.

bear in mind that os4 supports distributed compiling.. so you could get a very big boost using two sams. thank ssolie for that. :)

That's just marvelous and supports another post I put on AW I believe... relating to something regarding giving us the fastest PPC chip today and most of us being very happy with that, speed wise, since AmigaOS is so quick... and if you really need to have more processing power, surely networking (like the old days of Seaquest and Babylon V) wouldn't be such a bad idea, built in back up board AND true parrallel processing

And yes thank you ssolie for endorsing a common sense implementation!

Hey, I got 2 (SAM Flex 800), one from ACube and one from Amigakit both delivered brilliantly packed. Being from OZ I paid duty on the whole machine delivered from ACube but not so from Amigakit but I did not order dvdrom nor HD.

Sorry to these guys but the stupidity of taxing dictates how we should buy
