On the front page, I'd like the individual numbered pages for threads.. So on the front page you could have: Re: What features would you like on Amigans? 1, 2, 3, 4
.. and then be able to click on 3 to visit page 3 of the thread straight away.
Seconded. If I remember right, it was Orgin who originally implemented that on AW, no?
Hi jahc, Legion,
AT LEAST it would be nice if the first three and last three pages were selectable. It can get quite messy if a topic goes out to 22 pages.
1, 2, 3, .... 19, 20, 21
Maybe 5, 10, and 15 listed too. (i.e. every 5th page.)
Sorry, I know it's a pain to code for so many variations. That's why we need A.I.
Support Amiga Fantasy cases!!! How to program: 1. Start with lots and lots of 0's. 10. Add 1's, liberally. "Details for OS 5 will be made public in the fourth quarter of 2007, ..." - Bill McEwen Whoah!!! He spoke, a bit late.
Speaking as a developer with an A1, not a lot of time but even less money, I think a bounty system would be a very good idea. I know I'd be a lot more likely to work on my TV card program if there was a bounty at the end of it, just to know that it'd be useful really! Equally same goes for porting MAME like I'm thinking of at the moment, if there were a bounty it'd be that much easier to sit down and code, code, code!
I also think a project-tracking section would be good - almost like a blog for on-going projects. There could be a section on the left of the mostly recently updated project, and maybe a project selected at random could be 'featured'. This might keep the quieter developers more in touch with the community.... and maybe encourage bounties!
You could even have a PayPal "Donate" button for each project, assigned to the project maintainer. Of course it would require honesty otherwise someone might just start a "project" of a well-loved app and watch money come in, without actually starting any code, so as usual it would be caveat emptor - or caveat donator anyway. But it's an idea!
One thing that would be handy would be a way for all the rules posts to be prominantly and easily accessible from the main page.
Either create a way to "sticky" them (make them always appear at the top) or create a special link that takes you to a page containing them all. If we "sticky" them, though, they might be better off only "stickied' on the main page of a given subforum. Say, the rules post for the hardware development forum (if there is one) appears stickied on the top page of the hardware development forum, but not the tops-posts-of-all-the-forums page. In this case, then, there would need to be a link on the top-posts-of-all-the-forums page that would then take you to a page containing just the stickied posts of all the forums, that way, someone who only posts from the top-posts-of-all-the-forums page would still (be able to) see the rules posts for those forums...
edit:
Another thing that would be nice to have: On the main page, where it shows the top posts from all the threads mixed together, it should be possible to mouse over the little icon that represents the forum the post is from, and have it show a balloon-text thingy identifying the forum name. And clicking on the little icon should take you to that forum page.
How do I set up the account to so PM would trigger an e-mail message?
TIA, Jack

That's when our counter started counting...... So not only do we have the birthday of Jesus but also the Belgian Amiga Club is born that evening . And this will be celebrated on the 13th of January together with our first club meeting of 2007.
The Three Kings will bring each a special gift and there will be lots of champagne.
A "Return" button when watching pics from the gallery or maybe returning to the comments page of that pic when clicking on the "full screen" pic again?
Dunno if this has been proposed before (sorry if it has)...
The title page/news page (the one with the last forum posts on top) should have a possibility to jump to a specific page or the last page of a thread. Otherwise you need to go to the thread first and then jump to the last page.
Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.
Would it be possible to have a small, separate, floating window that would only contain a few buttons, say, "home", "news", "forum", "inbox", "rules"? That way, those few buttons would always be available without cluttering up the main window.

These software feedback forums are great, could we have an OS4 feedback froum aswell? Maybe something like a inofficial "beta-tester" forum, so that Hyperion or others from the beta list and OS4 devs can (if they want) check to get an idea of pending OS4 bugs?
Of course the staff had to be on the lookout, so that the forum is not dragged into OT...like problems with 3rd party software.
Only OS4 related topics...like the "Post your bugs of OS4 final". (Althought this has many 3rd party products in it
A minor graphical quibble here... While the home pqage is looking great, could the recent topics page please be improved with some background colors, etc?
Right now it just comes up with the default page color (tan?) and with no shading, topic by topic. Maybe the individual topics could get the alternating white/tan (table?) fills one sees on the home page's topics list?
