DVD error 296

Hi,
I have an A1XEG4 and am unable to copy a 2.5 gig movie to my harddrive. The file format is MP4. Any suggestions?

It is a movie that I grabbed from a satelitte as a .gts which is in reality a mp4. I am assuming that any protection has been removed seeing that is not a standard satelitte setup and it plays and copies on XP on several machines. I also had trouble with the new AmigaForever which I downloaded on and XP with highspeed and then copied to the Amiga to burn and was informed that the file was incompleat when opened. It opened and installed on XP just fine.
The only install on the system is DiscImage. It is a program I do'nt understand, but since it came with an installer the last few times I thought I would give it a try.
At this point I have no idea how to proceed.

What are you trying to copy it from? DVD or USB flash drive?

I am trying to load from a dvd I burned with XP from the external harddrive I used to capture from the satelitte box.
I have yet to burn a new disk with other data. I will try to find time tonight.

Hi when i have copied Vob's or AVI's off of a Xp burnt DVD, I normally just drag and drop them on the Amiga, which sometimes comes up with an error like you have.
It will create a Drawer on the Amiga ,but nothing inside so I go into the Icon Info and make sure that the WRITE box is ticked,then save then try and drag the files over again, this normally works but its not a 100% might be worth ago

DVD is dead. It must have been on its way out when I had the problem. It is totally fried now. I will grab a new one next time I am in the city.
