I installed these games the other day, nice! The XMahjongg upgrade is especially great to play. All are 'top drawer'! I'd be curious to what source program language most of them were written in. Do you now?

Yes, they are nice little games . XMahjongg and Ace is also my favourite.

XMahjongg is written in C++ and the others in C.

BTW: The next package will be a SDK, so you can compile your own programs if you like.

My bad! I should asked what game language were they 'created' in . I don't think any game is created in C or C++, that would be too hard to manage. Anyway, my 'DealorNoDeal' game was updated since the last time you played it Edgar. The upgrade went with the half hour TV show featuring 22 cases, music, and Demo mode. Maybe SDLBasic isn't the suitable package for it. That's why I'm asking.

Why not? All games are written in C/C++ without an interpreter in between.

Only Ace uses an engine library for the games.

FWIW, I doubt that. It's a higher language that 'creates' for C or C++. Seriously...
I've done to much "Lie To Me" with Dr. Lightman- Tim Roth, to accept that.

I'm just saying that, other concerns aside (which is a fairly large caveat, considering how library availability and customization to the target machine can factor into the equation, and of course the all-important personal preference,) ANSI C is generally a better language. All due respect to K&R C for being there first, but ANSI C is still better *when evaluating it solely as a language.*

I totally agree! Seriously what did you use before the "C" and "C++" ? I've used all the teachings and doctrines of Dr. Charles Moore in my computer learning and life with other systems.

Before K&R could grab their own noses, there was great astronomical data to be grabbed. How did you do it before C ? Forget C++! Sorry I don't see world according to your 1's and 0's, but that doesn't stop me enjoying and loving AmiCygnix !

I built my first Forth system, actually Fig-Forth for the C-64 in 1984. Continued with forth in Amiga with Delta Research and JForth.

Of course it is more than ANSI-C. The games are using some sublibraries like the X11 libs (XMahjongg, Ace and XaoS) and a GUI toolkit like GTK2 (gTans). But there is nothing that could be compared to SDLBasic or an other higher language. I swear
