CHANGELOG
=========
2009-09-19: Alpha 59
- UTF8 charsets codesets.library stuff works in AROS now for the first time I think.
Thanks Matthias Rustler for the working codesets.h header, as mine was broken in
some way! (This is a major update apparently, which is why I've released a new version
when the file transfers are nowhere near finished!)
- Tabs "blink" when theres unread messages waiting in an inactive tab
- When in group chat, the "name says:" info wasnt being displayed in the chat window
when a group chatter wasnt in your own contact list.
- When someone joins a group chat, the next time someone speaks, the "name says:" info
is displayed again to prevent confusion. It used to look like the newly joined person
was the one speaking.
- When in a group chat, clicking the "Invite" button a second time will close it
properly
- In tabs mode, when closing a chat tab, it will close the window now if that was the
last tab open. Thanks Kicko for that suggestion!
- Starting to change memory allocation to allocate memory through exec instead of
from the stack
- Removed timestamps after the first line in multiline messages. Looks kinda better.
If you want to break a message up into multiple lines, press control and Enter, and
it will insert a newline into your message. If you're using the right font, it'll
appear as a little box.. otherwise the "newline" character will just be invisible.
Sorry!
- Made incoming multiline messages work better. It's less broken now. Less.
- Using new contact list icons from Mason
- Tweaked the outgoing messages when a switchboard wasnt fully reconnected yet.
Hopefully the first few messages wont be missed anymore when you send while the
switchboard is still trying to reconnect.

Happy birthday! And thank you for all of the great software development down through the years. At 29 you should still have many more years of productive coding left in you!

Hi,

Great app you have here! I am getting a crash, though. When I open TuneNet, and play some audio, I can't start SabreMSN, it crashes when I click the icon. If i start SabreMSN first, and then TuneNet and try to play something, I only get a AHI requester asking me to choose an audio interface, but when I select one, it won't play.

My system is a Sam440 flex 800Mhz, running OS4.1.

what wav datatype are you using?

what happens if you do the exact same thing but use multiview to play the sabremsn samples instead?

SabreMSN have transparent emoticons ?
Here using the basilar MUI settings (gray background) I can see a white border around all emoticons, for the moment I switch to the white background

If no-one minds me hijacking.

Latest AmiMSN at http://tinyurl.com/mujnds receives files and avatars (type AVATAR in the chat window... you can only do it once per session).

I need to know of any bugs, since jahc is getting his protocol info off my own reverse engineering and research.... and if it doesn't work in AmiMSN, it won't in Sabre either :)

Hi

I'm testing amimsn here now for the first time and i did not manage to recieve any avatars (i only tested it once)
and i did get a grim reaper when connecting to msn (but i was able to continue after pressing Ignore DSI error)

I also wanted to test that ircd mode but i could not find any information about how to do that. i guess all i need to know is what port to connect to.

And i'm also getting an error message pretty often. it's error 213.

I sent you a message. Couldn't find much info on error 213, no-one seems to know what it is except it might be related to people with an @msn.com address going online & offline.

No problems so far apart from the initial reaper.

I downloaded some datatype off os4depot a while ago, can't remember which. Just downloaded and installed wave_dt.lha now, though and:
1. I was able to open nudge.wav with MultiView, but I hear no sound
2. When opening for example type.wav, my machine freezes
3. If i try to play the iff samples, it pretty much behaves the same way as with the wave ones

When I open nudge.wav in MultiView and then click the SabreMSN icon, my system freeze.

Does your system freeze when you play the samples with multiview only? without doing anything with Sabre?

@Mick

Feel free to discuss AmiMSN here. The projects are now linked kinda anyway. :)

Some of the samples freeze my machine when playing them with MutiView only. Some do not, but then when I subsequently click the SabreMSN icon, the machine freeze.
