These things can give an indication that it's just around the corner. Usually sw requiring new os components get released around the time updates are ready. This gives hope that christmas is coming early this year
Thanks for fixing my bugs. Now i can upload stuff on sprend again and pictures on facebook. Only thing i dont like with OWB is that after some time of usage it gets stuck on facebook. Like its loading something but doesnt finish. So i have to quit and rerun. Its like it waits for something and because of that all other pages is blocked waiting for facebook to finish loading.
I hope its less crashy then previous version. Time will tell.
@Kicko I believe that the crashes depend a lot on the website you are visiting. I've been using 3.19 from 3 days and no crahes at all (rock solid) while I see that those who complain, being the same people, probably can't live without websites that OWB finds somewhat problematic (yes, I hate FaceBook ).
To make an example here is a non-comprehensive list of sites I visited again and again these days (aside from Amigans and AW of course):
Gmail AnandTech Arstechnica IGN (slow but works fine) Google maps (slow but works fine) Playasia NCSX The-magicbox Amazon
I'm actually amazed at how correctly it renders the pages (IGN was particularly amazing, I thought it was not browsable at all, but it works fine and speed is bearable).
@Kicko I'm sure there must be problems somewhere, but I must be lucky Sometimes people which had a positive experience is also needed, before starting browsing with OWB (3.19 being my first version) I heard all kind of problems, and I thought browsing on this thing would be hell, instead to my greatest amazement it works like a charm (even the crashes with Google search/back button, I get none here after 4 days I'm still wondering what should be wrong with this browser, it just Rocks! ). Must be the websites I visit.
As a matter of fact I don't feel compelled to upgrade and I'm still using 3.19 (if I get into trouble eventually, I will download the update then).
When upgrading OWB, I always delete the entire previous installation, including the cookie database. My experience with OWB is similar to yours. I did have crashes with Google search but this is now fixed as of 3.20. Thanks Joerg, another small donation from me will follow soonish
@DAX I always keep a copy of the previous OWB installation(s), in case I later discover problems. OWB updates usually add some "essential" new features, but can sometimes also break stuff.
Anyway, glad to hear it's working well for you!
BTW, with additional of menu option for opening local files, it now seems that OWB finally opens local files reliable when using OpenURL.
- If you test this page, the country choose is strange. Maybe a problem with lots of countries menu entries.
Also a OWB problem: If I open another tabs for checking tagged, and came back to this page for completing my answer, cursor not work (mean impossible to continue to post). Removing the tabs and work fine again.
