@DAX It was on the first OS4 CD. A commodity somewhere in contributions. autowinborders or somesuch, don't remember the name without checking the A1. Been trying to contact the author to perhaps get access to the source to update it for openamiga pointers and such but I've never gotten a reply.

@orgin On the first AOS 4 CD that was sent out by snail-mail a commodity came with it that did just this. I don't know why people aren't using it? When I used it it behaved just like in windows.

@samwel I too use the resize feature often, resizing from any border should be default, IMHO.

@Marko
Yes it was AutoBorderSize but it's an hell to use, almost on 4.1
An integrated solution on 4.1.1 would be nice

resizing from any border should be default, IMHO. Sure thing. Configurable from the GUI settings, though. So that those who say this is an un-Amigan feature can switch it off.

@trixie Soon people will say that being able to move the mouse pointer with the mouse is non-amiga so they have to add a hot key that you have to hold while moving the mouse pointer and another you must hold to be able to click. And when you left click a menu opens, at the top not where the pointer is, with the option "click here". Awkward? Yes! But it's AMIGA! Honestly all this awkwardness people invent to be able to call it Amiga is just getting to be too much. People are used to work in certain ways with their computers, there's no need for amigas to be different and awkward in all things.

@samo79 It's actually possible to resize without this patch, but you have to press a hot key to do it and there's no visual feedback. Awkward? Yes! But it's AMIGA! ... So I prefer to use the commodity where there's no need for a hotkey, there's no need for AmigaOS to be different and 'inventive' in this area. Anyway, sorry for the OT stuff here. Let's move this OT discussion into another thread. [edit: made it a bit more clear what I was trying to say :)]

@trixie It's not the act of resizing from any border which is a "non-Amiga" feature, it's the fiddliness of trying to hit a thin window border at the corner instead of a proper gadget. I'm all for adding resize from any border, but the resize gadget in bottom-right or an equivalent-sized area for programs which look awful with a thick broder along one side of the window, needs to stay.

@Chris Using a bottom dragbar and filling it with the firefox status bar instead of just being empty would be a solution. Dunno if it's possible though.

Yes, there are a few awkward things in the AmigaOS UI. Let's do away with them, leaving the past where it belongs: in the past.

@cha05e90 AFAIK it was _hoped_ that an early alpha version could be released. But as you know not everything goes as we want.
