Hi All,

It've uploaded it at http://www.os4depot.net
It is available for download :
http://www.os4depot.net/?function=sho ... nguage/amidark_engine.lha

Here is a copy of the readme/description available :
Quote:
AmiDARK Engine Alpha-Demo-Evaluation version 0.1a // 2009.11.28

AmiDARK Engine is a Game Development Package ( GDK ).
It can be used from C/C++ under Amiga OS 4.

This is a *special* demo/test version of the AmiDARK Engine in its actual development state.
By downloading this demo you agree that you use it at your own risk.

I decided to release this special version to show the actual development state of the project.
AmiDARK Engine is highly inspired from DarkBASIC Professional and DarkGDK.
With this versoin, you can see that the AmiDARK Engine command set is similar to DarkGDK one.
That will allow when the engine will be more complete to allow fast and easy migration of DarkGDK application.

There are few demos available in this version and libamidark.h contain the actual development state commands sets definition.
You can play with them but, don't forget that AmiDARK Engine is under development and some functions/commands may not work properly as they are not completely coded.
Don't forget that this version is available for public only for tests purposes.
You must/should not use it for project development as it is not yet enough mature for.

If you want more informations, feel free to jump at http://www.amidark-engine.com
or send-me an e-mail.

INSTALLATION :
Copy files in SDK folder in your Amiga OS 4 SDK folders with full path like they are in this archive.

DEMO LIMITATIONS:
This demo is limited to 5 minutes running applications.
An application compiled using AmiDARK Engine will run for 5 minutes and then it'll stop with a message about the fact it's a demo version.
It must not be used for commercial/shareware/freeware developments. This demo is only for tests/evaluation purposes.

REQUIREMENTS :
You must have the latest Hyperion's Amiga OS 4 SDK installed.
AmiDARK Engine also need MiniGL 2.1 from Hans de Ruiter available on os4depot.net
It also need glpng and zlib1.2.3, libpng 1.2.23 and glpng libs installed in your SDK. These 3 libs are available on os4depot.net

Kindest Regards,
Fr?d?ric Cordier aka AmiDARK
http://www.amidark-engine.com

Feel free to test it and gives me your feedback about the project.
It will probably be the only public release but, I wanted to make one release public to show what the project exactly is and the interest for Amiga OS4 developers.

PS : I'd like to know if people that uses Amiga OS 4 Classic can test so I can know if it's compatible with Amiga OS 4 Classic.

Regards,
AmiDARK

Nice progress.

However, when I run the multi-cameras demo, most of the boxes are pure white. The colouring and lighting seems to have a problem. Do you get this too?

This doesn't match the screenshot on your website. You may have been using a side-effect of a bug in the lighting which I fixed last week. This bug caused tinting of planets in Celestia when certain text items were being displayed. Please update to the latest SVN version for testing. The bug fixes are important.

If the change is due to the lighting/materials bug that I fixed, you need to be careful with enabling and disabling GL_COLOR_MATERIAL, and disabling GL_TEXTURE_2D when you're not using texture-mapping.

Hans

Hello freddix,

I don't know if you are the author of AmiDark, but I thought it looked very good!

I love the BASIC-like simplicity, and personally feel that it would be a perfect fit with the PortablE language ( http://cshandley.co.uk/portable/ ). It also looks like it would probably be very easy to make PortablE support it.

Would you be interested in providing a ".e" module with AmiDark, if I did convert the ".h" file?

Hello Chris,
Your proposal seem interesting but, don't forget that AmiDARK Engine will be shareware ...

I'll send you a PM with my MSN so, we can discuss more concerning this eventuality

@Hans:
Hi Hans,
I will DL it tomorrow (I'm not at home these days ... My work makes me away during 3 days ...)
and I'll compile it to check if the problem I have is the bug you've fixed or not.

Regards,
Freddix / AmiDARK
