What is Libpurple?
I have got a suggestion to open a bounty for this library but would it be worth the effort?

Please discuss and tell me whether you are interested in seeing this for AmigaOS.

just a thought, does this do anything that wookie or jabber can't?

I'd be more interested in a program that offers speech,as skype etc...

If this will offer us anything over Jabber or wookie is also what I'm wondering about.

Regarding Skype that is closed source and is not likely to hit the Amiga anytime soon. I am not familiar with alternatives to Skype.

well it has a more complete support for file sending, avatars, and many chat networks.

it's the library used in pidgin and finch.
finch is kind of like a text version of pidgin.

all 3 are part of the pidgin source archive.

if a bounty was to be created, i think it should include an amigaos gui for libpurple, kind of like a native version of pidgin, in short, what adium is for osx.

Jahc have asked some month ago the wish to have this libs ported (hope I remembered well, but I think yes

This could help to have new protocol supported or maybe help to found someone to port pindgin to aos4 (or a way between).
