Progressbar is now on top instead of bottom. Feels weird for the moment but ill get used to it with time. Theres now add/remove tab +- buttons. Would be nice if we could hide these but probably i will get use to that too :)

Yes me too, I don't like too mutch the progress bar at the top but I think that this is was done because OS 4.0 compatibility, aniway this is a good release

Before, each tab had its own set of navigation buttons and string gadget inside the tab.. now theres one set at the top, and the tabs are all at the bottom where they should be. Nice and seperated.

Also, when you're opening tabs and loading new ones etc.. the url string gadget doesnt go unselected by itself anymore while closing and loading like a maniac. (Keyboard controls here)

It would be nice to can configure that the function "Open Link in New Tab" opens the new tab in front. With 3.22 tabs opens always in the back with this function. It would be great if we have two functions in the menu: "Open Link in the back" and "Open Link in front".

OWB loads VERY long , too long at www.klicktel.de and www.nokia.de. It seems that OWB hangs up while loading, but it isn't so.
When www.amigans.net is the startpage the fuelbar stops at the end (263 / 263 kb) but doesn't disappear. The only way to disappear the fuelbar is not to click the stop button or something else, but to scroll down a bit. Strange!

For those of us too suspicious of AmiUpdate to use it, where can it be downloaded from (not on OS4Depot yet)....?

Tried looking here, but not joy either.

Suspicious of AmiUpdate? A tcpdump capture shows that it gets a list of all updates from the AmiUpdate server via an XML database, and then AmiUpdate searches locally on your harddrive for the updates you need, then lists them.

AmiUpdate doesn't SEND any information about anything you have, at all, period.

Edit: .. and yes, that means the lists of updates are quite large, and has many old things on it. Each and every time you click "Scan", it downloads the whole list of updates all over again. Which has stuff dating back at least 3 years.

My ideal software is one which can be unarchived & used immediately, no installation script required!


One concrete example of why dumb scripts suck: They will replace all my icons, loosing any customisations I made to the tooltypes. And that is very important for OWB, which annoyingly stores all the prefs there.
