iirc somewhere in the depths of that 1000+ thread over at AW.net someone mentioned that Hyperion already has such a board and is working on it (don't make me search for that specific post, it may be my memory playing tricks on me aswell)
I don't think AmigaOS4.x will be useable with this new hardware, but the upcoming AmigaOS5 will...
@Raziel But before OS5 comes OS4.2,3,4,5,6... I hope to see this board supported a bit earlier, it looks good even if I had hoped for something portable.
But for now the above picture looks more like Linux.
Sam440 was first developed with Linux to test it, then later OS4 was ported, so I don't see any problem with Linux running on their mystery MAP hardware. It just allows them to get the hardware debugged, before they have to debug OS4 on it. (Try debugging both at the same time - almost impossible!)

I think OS4.2 or OS4.5 will run on this hardware. But what does the name matter? They could call OS4.1 "Jelly Sandwich OS" is they wanted!
Even OS4.1 may run on it natively, but only using the 64-bit processor in 32-bit mode, and only using 1 of the 2 processor cores.
That screenshot is from Linux though; our console doesn't look like that, and it looks like the output from "top," a Linux tool that shows the top n processes (CPU usage wise) that are running.
Of course, this board is being developed to run Amiga OS, which is great news. I'm very much looking forward to having a multi-core Amiga with PCI-Express slots. The PCI-Express slots means better Radeon HD cards and a fast bus to those cards. A few people thought that my driver was a waste of time because PCI was too slow; well, that's soon to be irrelevant. I'm going to have to start saving up for new hardware.

Will be before amigaos 5,remember that there are many versions between os4.1 to 5.0
And bring on dual core and MUCH ram, with pci-e etc etc.
The map might have to do with dual core or 64bit support? Who knows??
Sign me up for one, hope they sell very well. Even people will complain about the price.
@ Antique #4 But new hw by itself ain't no MAP project by itself. Need some sw too. Not sure what but... . Backing your OS in software into hardware sounds ambitious in lots of that real funny software called $$$$$$$$$$$.

@Antique #12 Sign me up for one... Mee too!! Wow, what a thread!!
guys am I the only one here that's getting in big shit by the Mrs??? I'm checking the inetrenet like every 10 minutes and my wife thinks I'm typing to my mistress ..i laughed and told her that her name was Amiga
Just the next piece of HW I've been looking for! lol
count me in, the credit card is on zero :)
