On the board pic here, I can make out normal PCI and PCI-e slots, 4 x SATA, prolly PATA, something that looks like mini-PCI-e. On the DIMM side, those seem to be two different tech DIMMs, possibly the ones above DDR2, the ones below DDR3?
on some Amiga related sites I read it's a new mobo ("PC like" like Sam) little they know its actually a full computer with custom chips! Beyond the sweetest dreams IMHO!
I just noticed it recently. I am actually 99% sure that Hyperions' secret project is a brand new Amiga. Dual-Core and with state-of-the-art todays' technology..
Hyperion seem to have a lot of great plans, and they truly want to bring the Amiga back to the frontline again! They know that we no longer can accept the Amiga to be ONLY a hobby system, but so much more!
Great news! Happy new year, folks!
Soon to own a powerful AmigaOne X1000 with latest AmigaOS 4.1 incarnation ;) Dual Core PPC!
It seems from helgis' profile that he is resricted from AW for like 10000 days!!! What is that all about???
Anyways good to see a fellow amigan on here getting excited about this NEW AMIGA!! Not sure how i will hide it from the missus but who cares eh!!! She can have my windoze laptop....good riddence to it
I was just thinking that myself. That thread with helgis and his possible peg 2 was a long thread, but nothing compared to the current thread at AW, over 1600 posts now. Anyway, i'm thinking of a way to tell my wife we will not be going on holiday this year.....New Amiga...2010 is truely the promised land found for me !!
Among other stuff I found this in the HTML source of tomorrow's page: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay, okay. You want something more solid? Hrm. I can't really say much here. So let me just address a few rumours. No, you haven't seen this motherboard before. Yes, it's a desktop. No, the A-EON partners didn't design the Nemo board in their garages, and no it's not an evaluation board! Goodness. It was designed by a highly experienced design team to A-EON's specifications. Yes, it's high-end hardware. No, it doesn't have the number of cores you are thinking of. Whatever number you are thinking of. At least, not necessarily. No, we don't have a release date. Yes, it will be fairly soon. Yes, the software team does have functioning boards to work on already. Yes, it is the most powerful AmigaOS hardware ever. By a big margin. I did say high-end. Yes, it will come with a case. It's a computer we're making, not just a motherboard. Yes, Nemo IS just the start. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hyperion is a software company, not hardware. I'm sure they are still working on their OS4 port to a banana as some of us requested a long time ago. Although bananas have only a single core, they are very popular and affordable as any banana owner can tell you.
As you can see, part of the "X" logo is yellow for a ripe banana, and also black, for the extra-ripe banana which is sometimes referred to as "rotten". Yes, OS4 will still function on even a black banana.
Helgis, I'm proud of you for being suspended from Amigaworld. Some of us left of our own will but others need a forceful push away.
Hyperion are not producing the hardware themselves. A company named A-Eon technology are making the hardware.
A-Eon is headed up by none other than Ben Hermans, Trevor Dickson (TrevorD on AW.net) and another fellow also from the UK (Anthony Moorley if memory serves).
Andrew Korn (apprently a well known / maybe respected?) Amiga Journo is the one behind the website of riddles.
And yes, the HTML comments indicate that tomorrow (today me for already) 5th Jan will be the final release of info. They will release 'all they can release'
Should be fun.
How do I convince my missus I should get one of these now. Hmm.
