I thought perhaps that we would start a new thread about what people have noticed thats new on AmigaOS4 so that others can go check for themselves.
To kick off, I am adding:
New WB Startup, soooo much easier than before.
Context Menu's - Again another much needed feature.
Tunenet - Lovely
Okay, someone else add their bit.

It was for a minute or two - I got as far as hitting the download link.... and then it decided to give up. Needless to say I'm going to spend most of the day retrying (don't tell my employers
)
@Mikey_C
Context menus have been there since the start (very first 4.0 Dev Preview disc) - you just needed to enable them manually.

@Chris Yeah, but this version seems to work better than the old one, maybe I'm just going gaga though!

@Mikey_C
I want it too, down this yesterday though
I got as far as loading the page to 140k when it stalled
I hope USB will be *much* more stable, other than that every new piece is a bonus

You manage to get much further than me.
I cannot even access the Hyperion webpage let alone do anything on it

@Mikey_C Amiga OS4 Update 1. What have you found so far? -> New Reaction (improved speed, new features (see OWB 3.23 tabs for example)) -> Optimized Compositing Mode (Requires REALLY less Video-RAM) -> I cannot not say i found it but i recognized that the Kernel has become A LOT of improvements and is much more stable (especially when a task eats the wohle cpu time, system is nevertheless more stable and responsive then) -> Cold boot time is now about 42 seconds on sam440ep (latest uboot also installed) -> USB data transfer works now stable -> New Version of AmiPDF (a bit faster PDF rendering) -> On the first look it seems to me that all System utilities, prefs, programms has been recompiled (and maybe optimized or updated) with a newer Version of the SDK, what also means more stability and speed with them -> OWB 3.23 -> Much much more, last night it was very laaaaaaate :)

I don't know about anyone else, but what I've found so far on the new update is. . . . . NOTHING!!!!! As Hyperion still seem to have their fingers up their bums and their website doesn't want to let me on! I can (sometimes) load the primary page although this takes 20 minutes or so. Nice!! ha ha ha I hope the new OS is more efficient than their webmaster!! ha ha ha Ah well looks like the waiting game is going to have be played (as always), cos let's be honest it's not going to be sorted over the weekend now is it!! Months of waiting creamed off with another weekend of it! I hope someone at Hyperion's having a good laugh cos this is just ANNOYING!!!! lol @IamREM

@Raziel How can such a tiny file be causing so much problems to download? I thought we were talking something more substantial from the amount of trouble we are all having trying to download it.

@All Looks like we have a progress report after 24 hours "We're Sorry We're currently experiencing technical difficulties. Our web site will be back again in a few hours. Thank you for your patience" Not what I was hoping for but its good to know that they are working on the problem even if we still dont have the update we are waiting on just yet. Back to playing games on my minimig for a few hours then I will try again.
