How save GR/Debug output after lockup + hard reset ?

Sometime when we have crashes, etc and can press 3 magic buttons for soft reset, we can just do @dumpdebugbuffer@ in shell, and have GR output which we can analize. But how survave after hard-reset ? Because sometime, programms just fully lockup the system, and these 3magic buttons just does not works, and you need to do hard-reset.

For example on moprhos on my peg2, i do:
Quote:

boot.img bootdevice=dh3 rd rdo=33555456

And after lockup is happenes, i can do hard-reset, and grab output of debug info with no problems. Any solution like this for os4 ?

c:dumpdebugbuffer >ram:crash.log

though i have to admit most of the crashes that take down the system wont leave the time to GrimReaper to write anything anywhere, so the only other thing you can do is set up a serial connection and catch the debug output on another machine

I am not about syntax, i am about exactly problems with "lockup". Because after hard-reset, by dumpdebugbuffer we have nothing. But having serial cable/other machine/etc for me looks boring .. no any other more easy ways ?

Just do warm boot, and you can recover it, if you do a cold boot it will be lost.

We have 3 ways for reboot:
1. soft reset (3 magic buttons from keyboard)
2. hard reset (reset button on case/mother board itself)
3. power off / power on.

So, some time happenes lockups of whole system by which you cant use soft reset (1) , only hard reset (2). After hard reset, dumpdebugbuffer show you nothing. The solution for now as i can see only serial cable (what is a bit suck, because need second machines and serial cable). I am in interest about some programm way to save GR output after hard reset (like i say on morphos i use some parameter on loading stage of os, maybe with os4 it possible somehow too).

the other poin tis when a crash occured and freeze the whole system, It's possible to test the same problem with kernel.debug.

As kernel.debug apparently don't save anything (just an output to serial I think-not sure), It's too bad there are nothing who can catch the kernel.debug outptut and save somewhere on the HD.

No way but external serial logging.

As Framiga?say, if machine dead you cant save anything on hdd, but, you still can save it in some parts of memory. Like again, its done on morphos. I do not know how exactly its done on mos, but i am sure it possible also on os4. Maybe that nasty feature of morphos only for peg2 of course ..
