i have downloaded the archive, extracted the iso image, have backed up my sys: partition I am looking now on how to use Frying pan to burn the image. Frying pan is installed oK by vendor of my system (should be ok) Can someone give me the next steps please?
Hi @Raziel What could be user friendlier??? I don't thinkd that works in the download version 1.3.2 ISR. Registered version yes? The Write Menu page shows no 'cook' functions. It's an electric fying pan!
I have the registered version and it works perfect. A few little bugs left which will certainly be squashed with 1.4, but even now i don't need anything else to do all i want AUDIO, DATA, ISO you name it, FP does everything with a tip on the mouse button
It was just a joke, I've registered FP as well and I like it very much. MakeCD used to be my favourite and I still use it to burn CD's, like allready mentioned it's really easy to use, drag the ISO to the window and burn.
Actually I haven't used AmiDVD much, tried it recently and it worked well. I hope to see some new versions of FP though.
I guess, i tried to edit the first one , since in the mean time i found this
http://www.amiga.org/forums/blog.php?b=142 A lot more precautions. Can i indeed just install over my sys partition? Did?all went ok for you ? I have the AmigaOS4.1 original CD ready, so i guess in case of problem i can always use that instead of medling with partitions?
Just one second, are you asking if you can copy Update 1 to your OS4 partition?
I thought we are talking about FryingPan here??? My comments were about the FryingPan drawer which can be placed anywhere in your system.
Regarding Update 1 is a whole other story and NO(!!!!11!) you ought NOT to copy it over an old installment, rather (as it has been stated over and over again in other threads), install it by RUNNING the BootCD, FOLLOWING the hints and help from there on a BLANK partition. <-- PERIOD
I was impatient and tried to burn it, wrong name, so it did not boot (or other problems) Now my problem is ( i don't have empty CDROM right now, how do i clear this RW CD ?
Hmm, i don't get why you are taking yourself into so much trouble?
Just create a plain and blank partition (keep your old installation) and install update one there (set the the boot priority to +1 over your old partition). This way you are able to switch between the installations by a single change in Media Toolbox (you don't have to burn anything)
Making a bootable CD with FP using single files is beyond (but i gues if you simply make a file by file copy it "should" work. Never needed it myself (apart from Hyperions .iso's)
Believe me, you can keep your partition there sitting on your WB (i have my old installation still for backup purposes and sometimes some seldom used prefs), which i can then copy over without mounting a CD
I don't think it is possible to create a bootable CD with your complete installation without some serious fiddling in FryingPan, i don't know though, never tried myself
