Underneath the "Add", "Remove", "Create Dir" and "Build Image" buttons is an input field.
On the right side of that field is a pull-down button, click it
Change the tab to "File System" and you will be presented with all the information one could write to an CD including disc name (btw, don't bother while using .iso's, they carry their name inside and will override any setting from here)

Keep your questions coming, mate

Sure Buddy,
I am stilll trying to follow the logic here.

http://www.intuitionbase.com/static.php?section=en_Boot-CD
i would at least have the content of the boot CD right even if it does not boot.

So - i did put the content of my boot partition in a drawer datas:Sysboot
data:Sysboot/C etc
i modified in user:startup Sys: with SysBootCD: hoping to give this name to the volume

i do try to give the CD the structure of a bootdisk
C/
..
WBStartup/
.backdrop
..

i do give the name SysBootCD to the volume as you indicated
1) Now i can, using 'add' in Tracks/Iso Builder and pointing to the drawer Datas:SysBoot
produce a CDROM where alll drawers are contained in SysBootCD/SysBoot
eg
SysBootCD/SysBoot/C
---
SysBootCD/SysBoot/WBStartups

My assigns will be wrong and i guess
a) startup-sequence will not be found and
b) a number of commands of startup-sequence won't work c:

2) i can add one subdrawer one at a time (by opening each subdrawer) say C/ --- WBStartup/
each at a time and constitue a correct directory tree (seems very tedious, no better way?)
here it was OK but tedious work.

I would like to find the MakeCD with the 'bootoptions' seen on this URL.
http://www.intuitionbase.com/static.php?section=en_Boot-CD
Does someone recognise it?

In the mean time i did find out that Amidvd theoretically could burn as a bootCD (AMiga & UBoot) Burned the previously constucted isoimage, got a nice booticon, but it did not boot, normal system did.
As other bootable CD's do work OK i gues i made a mistake or Alidvd does not do what it saye.
Anybody experience with Amidvd bootcd's?

Thanks again

Joseph

Thanks for your help

Joseph

Simply making a mirror copy of your installed workbench on a CD "should" be sufficient, as i said, i never tried it myself, so there could be some thing that need to be adapted to make it boot from a CD

As you guessed right you can do it by creating the dir tree on the "ISO Builder" tab of FP

Yep, this is the easiest of the three...

Install fresh CD-RW or CD-r.
go to >Create Image tab:
1) Set Image file = name/location of .ISO
2) Set 'bootable' = AmigaOS4.
3) Leave volume name blank.
go to >Burn Image tab:
1) Is drive showing your CDROM device?
2) Click Burn CD RW
When "Ready" is displayed then eject CD and inject it back in drive. Does the new CD icon display a 'BoingDisk' on the WB? If it does then the disk is good!

Is that easy or what...

Thanks for clarification, as said i used an iso image created with FryingPan then burned it with mdvd with the Amiga boot checkmark set. The 'boot' icon is there, so why don't i observe the system booting from CD but again from my HD ?

I burned an other CDROM following carefully your steps.
I have the same results: When i boot with the CD present, hand is passed to the HD sys:partition (ot this one takes precedence)
As other CD's such as the OS4.1 update CD do take over the system, what could be wrong here?

I think i will rewrite the last CD after having some user-startup instructions modified to show ther are executed. Then report back.

Your Sys:Prefs/UBoot config. file is set wrong! You want the CDROM to be the "first" boot device and the HD the "second" boot device. Can you do this from OS4.1 WB? Make the changes and SAVE then try machine cold boot-up with the install CD.
