One of the games I miss playing directly in OS4 is Shanghai. Has anyone been able to tweak some setting to get it to start by just clicking on it or will E-UAE continue to be the only way to play it under OS4?

Try sdllopan, I think you will be very pleasantly surprised.

2 versions available.

Enjoy. I also loved Shanghai.

I've run Shanghai under OS4, the only problem was the fact that it wanted a 640x480 screen so the display looked funny.

I think it was one of those games that wouldn't exit, either, you had to reboot.

The version I have came from a disk of free games provided with the A500 that I bought for the kids in about 1990.

[edit] Just tried it again, still works. It calls itself "China Challenge" and claims to have been written by a Dirk Hoffman in 1990. Is that the one you meant?

PS: it does exit cleanly.

I tried sdlLopan under ud4 but it seemed to chew up a lot of CPU cycles and slow alot of other things down. Has this improved under OS4 final?

I've got China Challange which is nice, but it doesn't have all the options that Shanghai from Activision has.

Works fine but yes, seems to slow Ibrowse down when opening up a screen.
