About time you start coding a bit on the amiga again,
Think i'll leave the betatesting to others.

I'm very happy to know that a new version of Basilisk will be out for OS4.x.

Anyway, i don't have much time to dedicate to betatesting but I would be very please to test it as an ex apple 68k user.

I can make some small reports on my different OS 4 boxes.

I would like to help but I couldn't get much to work at all from the last version for OS4. It boots speedily and OS works but I couldn't find any software to run.

Cheers

yep, i'll be glad too. I tried to localize (add catalog support, it already had, but didn't work) bit as i'm no coder i don't know if i add some new bugs. I'm not at home this weekend, but as soon as i go back, i let you know to test Basilisk II ASAP.

Keep the good work mate!!!!

Oh, I suppose there is still plenty of usable 68k Mac software floating around - I have some nice stuff here that I used with Shapeshifter and Fusion. It would be nice (no, it IS nice) to have "MS Word for Macintosh" here to open my old documents. Some time ago I migrated my old Shapeshifter/Fusion installation to the current BasiliskII - it ran instantly out of the box! Excellent!

I?m mostly working on graphics parts of Basilisk II,

So you might expect some speed up in 32bit,

Added memory handler for 16 and 8 bit conversion, so this are also speeded up but her I?m having some problems whit memory read operations, sometimes when moving windows the graphics is oddly displeased.

I will keep the old 60Hz copy routine just in case, in case graphics are not displayed correctly in the other two modes.

Some Gui changes are needed, for new options, I might look in to catalog support while I?m at it.

I?m also thinking about adding a quit button on workbench when you run Basilisk II in full screen.

Count me in for testing too.

So far, I haven't had much luck running the apps which
used to run (very well) on the old Shapeshifter.

Thanks & looking forward to your work,

PJS

A quit button would be most helpful. Good luck with your coding.

Thanks mate. Let's just say I was looking elsewhere. I have also been looking at Basilisk on Windows and OSX, please correct me if I am wrong but Basilisk will only support upto 8.6 and then Sheepshaver for 9.2 PPC?

Thanks for the link.

I can only get it to run MacOS 7.0.1 to MacOS 7.6.0.

Maybe I have wrong ROM, CPU, RAM settings.

afaik MacOS8/8.1 doesn't need something different to run than 7.x, but then again I seem to recall that either shapeshifter or fusion had an option to check in case v. 8 was to be used. I'll have to check it when I get home.

While I've not had much luck with Basilisk, Shapehifter came in quite handy when I had to e-mail resumes, and the businesses demanded Microsoft formats instead of RTF or PDF. (My resume's, school work, techie write-ups, and even a few dirty jokes are all done in either FinalCopy or AmigaWriter) I used to use PC-Task with Win3.11+Calmira+M$ works 3 or Corel, but Mac emulation is much more convenient, with Shapeshifters ability to share the clipboard (VERY hand with word processor stuff), direct mouse polling, and the ability to dump mac. h/w calls straight to the cpu instead of converting x86 stuff. (Much, much faster) Plus, the Mac ha a ton of educational games, which my daughter likes.
I would love to betatest, but between said daughter, my job, and school, I'm afraid time is a bit short. :( Though, I would like to know if a wine-type API wrapper could work?
