A1SE dead again

After 3 days setting up my recently revived A1SE, I was enjoying playing and testing BOH, AmiCynix, 1941, new SDK, Cinnamon Writer and all that cool stuff that appeared during the last couple of years, when it decided to die again.

This morning while editing Amidock prefs it froze and now it doesn't boot. I had unplugged and plugged everything again and no luck. No display and no disk activity. Maybe this weekend was its last breath. It was fun for a while again. I'm sad now.

My A1XE did just that at the beginning of february and it was the CPU that needed a reflow. AmigaCenter successfully managed to do it and I should get it back this week or the next one... Finger crossed.
Maybe it's the same for you ?

I think its Bios battery again, you only have G3 and it does not run hot.

well, I don't know if it is worthy now, maybe instead I should save for a new SAM Flex. I don't think I will be able to afford an X1000 when available.

Hope you get your CPU back soon. Back to Debian for now.

Battery is new, two weeks or so. But I'll try a new one just in case.

Just give your A1 to me and buy a SAM hehe. no, I am sure it can be repaired. Someone like AmigaCenter would certainly get that back as good as new I guess.

Sell it cheap as parts and start saving for the X1000.

No way! It stays with me. Sentimental value, you know. My first Amiga after my A1200.

I tested the RAM before installing AOS4.0 again, but who knows... It was stored almost 3 years.

I think better target a SAM Flex first. If things go well then an X1000 (or maybe an X1200?)

Yep, a SamFlex will change your life since the A1SE was not very stable no fisnished. It had been an AmigaOne XE, I'd tell you to try to repair it but an SE is not woth the investment.

And a SamFlex should be faster than an A1SE anyway.

I agree. An upgrade to a SAM Flex 733MHz will be cool. If/when I have some "spare" money and the SE can be fixed then I'll surely do it.
