Trevor, i need to thank you personally for making this possible, and congratulation on launching the home page and for what you and your team have managed to do with the X1000 hardware. I love what you do! It's so wonderful and so inspiring it almost brings me tears in the eyes! Thank you so much! You guys are a lifesaver!

The X1000 setup seen here is just what i expect from such a high-end Amiga system! Well balanced in power and price! Excellent sorted out!

I'm definitely ready! Hope the keyboard, mouse and the tower case will be in black! Black is sexy!

Thank you again so much, Trevor! You are the MAN!

Thanks for your kind words and enthusiasm, but don't forget the A1-X1000 would not be possible without the effort and hard work of a lot of other people. This includes Hyperion-Entertainment, the OS4 developers and Beta testers and other A-EON investors.

As long as you don't remove the entire CPU from the specs (without replacing it with another) or AmigaOS4 from the "Software specs", i think, this can become a nice machine!

Thanks!

Thanks for the specs. hmmm 1.8ghz will give me alot of enjoy in hd-rec and would give me interest to start learning Blender. Ofcourse nice for encoding mp3s/videos and other apps that needs more power. Oh right gnash, owb, firefox etc.

I want that machine :)

Thank you again for replying so fast, and yes, i did not forget Hyperion Entertainment, the OS4 team and other important people who have made all this possible. That's why i am so happy and so proud to be part of all this as both a supporter and a dedicated user.

I certainly agree, and the great speed will help a lot. I want to be able to use my A1-X1000 in a more serious way, and not just for high-end gaming.

According to the hint that "all specs are subject to change",
perhaps it could be possible to have a 2Ghz version of the CPU?

Yep, 1.8ghz it's pretty interesting :) I have for now on my working PC exactly : intel pentium dual core 1.8ghz + 2gb of ram + GeForce 8500GT. And that more than enough for me for any game which i tryes last time (not many, but still), and it's more that enough for works.

So, new aone, will be the same 1.8ghz + the same 2gb ram, but with better gfx card ? (or alsmot the same as geforce 8500gt ?)

A DVD Combo Drive is kind of an odd choice.

Combo drives read DVDs and read/write CDs.

Full DVD burners are less than $25 at actual, physical retail stores in the US. (Microcenter, specifically, has Samsung burners for $24.99.)

Are combo drives really enough cheaper than that to matter?

I know this may seem a bit preliminary, but any chance of benching something like the distributed.net RC5-72 and OGR-27 cores and compare with an A1-XE and/or Sam?

This would give us a good idea of the performance, especially if Altivec support is there.

Download link for distributed.net client

This is assuming the client recognizes the cpu...

Thanks

I've been fooled by specs before (the SAM Flex serial port turned out to be a 4 wire serial instead of standard serial) and am wondering if the USB 2 will actually be usable or just USB 2 hardware without software support again.

Yes, a very nice setup!

@Kicko

No, i am not going to do that mistake again overclocking such an excellent treasure like this. That would be terrible

Will simply run the system as it is, and expand at a later date..

@All

Well, the second core of the CPU and more RAM support might be possible to see in AmigaOS 4.2, according to
some information that leaked out about what Hyperion
Entertainment will be working on the way forward...

I do not complain. This is just wonderful.

Well, i understand it that Hyperion are currently working hard at making drivers for the X1000 hardwares to use
under the latest incarnation of AmigaOS 4.1, so it should
be possible. USB2, Java and SMP support will span a lot
of updates, so we will see many updates on these things
for AmigaOS4. Watch this space..

You will have to ask Trevor and A-EON about that, but i am
extremely confident that they know exactly what they are doing. They are no fools, you know. They know what they are doing. Probably more than any of us..

Thank you for all hard work!! The future seems bright once again. Will AOS 4.2 be included in the X1000 package? Will we be able to use dualcore in a near future(2010)?

I will but it asap it gets available!!! Thanks again for your effort!

@Helgis
