Plugins in Gimp are still not working. Gimp has a strange plugin system, which makes it hard to port. At the moment I'm not working on it. I have not enough time and no idea, how to make it. Sorry for this.
Unfortunately I have no idea, how to fix this. The only solution at the moment is, to replace the file "Sys:Kickstart/ATIRadeon.chip" of update 2 with the file from update 1. Of course you loose the new features of this module from update 2.
@328gts
Maybe I have some good news for you: Although the (external) plugin system is still not working, I was able to add several loaders to Gimp (newer version 2.4.7) . See snapshot:
This is really wonderful news !!!!!! Any estimate of a release date ?
Yes, I'm happy, that I could implement this. But I'm afraid, that it will need several more weeks before I can make a release. I have not much time at the moment and I have to fix some bugs.

Am I wrong or I can see the Geany icon on your Amicygnix desktop??
Yes, indeed . Some nice apps on my HD are waiting for a release. Geany is nearly completed, but one feature is still missing: Execute a built program. Compiling a project already works.
But same as Gimp: A realease will need some more time

Savers are in development.
Thats good news not only for him but for me too I'm very disappointed in existing graphic programs for my SAM.

I like very much your work! However I still hope that you found some way to hw accelerate your X11 server... Any way to do that? Like set up a bounty or something like that? If AmiCygniX get the hw acceleration becames really a MUST!

I had no success so far. I think with the current version of the X server it is impossible (R6.3). Maybe with a newer one (>R7.3), but I have no working server so far. A bounty will not help as I cannot give a guarantee that I can make it.
Anyway, even with as it not so fast right now, it will be very nice to have Gimp which can load/save jpg/bmp/png/etc. Better than nothing 100%. Which load/save formats you have already add in your upcoming Gimp ?
The load formats are shown in the screenshot above. All loaders are based on gdk_pixbuf, which means, that layers are not supported (except XCF), but alpha channels. And the pictures are loaded into a RGB colorspace.
I have no working savers yet, but I think that I can support PNG, PNM and JPEG, maybe more...
