Hey corto

Even though I do not actually use dosbox at the moment years ago I was very interested in seeing the development of such... and now because of the power of our Amiga HW is getting up there the interest is only going to grow...

I'd like to support your efforts!

Thanks for the news ! About Dosbox 0.73 I stopped to investigate for optimization : I tested dozens of approaches and the code design made me crazy !

@Slayer
Thanks ! I appreciate but I do it for fun and I prefer amigans to save their money to buy hardware or contribute to software developers that needs money.

@328gts

dosbox in the actual AOS4 version does not seem to support real cdrom and virtual ones (would be extremely usefull if you could mount the CD with diskimagegui and let dosbox knows about it )

the only thing to do is to copy the content of the CD to a directory but if the application/game needs the CD, than it is a no-go.

ah ok so what about games that have to be setup to run? can I just run setup.exe within dosbox and the installation carries forward in the mounted dir?

also, why is it that I mount c: in my DH1 partition and whrn I typer dir it's showing my main DH0 partition only

edit:
ok got her working now after some fiddling around ..hehe i forgot about that 8 (or so) charcater limit on dos file names..so far tried out an old classic "jumpman" and I'm at 100% all the time and it's still slow on my Samflex@800. Will try out some other stuff later. Good news is that it is very stable on my system so far. Thanks again corto

Ultima 7 is available under amiga os4, thanks to Friedens, so you have not to use DosBox Emulator . With that port you can also use the expansions

work on OS4!

re: DOSbox... I'm wondering what OS you guys have been
running? Is it really just DOS or can this emulator run
any ancient versions of windoze, etc?

Edit: ah ha, I just noticed the link...

So it's trully DOS and games only?

any of you guys get Jumpman working ok under dosbox? ...runs very slow even on high frame rate which is odd because I usually have to slow down other more intense games

Refreshing graphics on the battle and castle - ok
Time to think of computer opponents - ok
Refreshing graphics on the map is not perfect (move hero to jump is optimal option).

DOSBox 0.74
CPU Cycles = MAX

Yes DOSBox 0.74 not support new libSDL. I use an older version LibSDL-1.2.so (11.05.2010) 2.4MB.
