There is nothing special code going on, just CSS with jpgs and pngs as images.
@All
Struggling on /index.html page. Trying to get topshadow.png to drop right below header to create a shadow effect, I just keep getting a white margin. arghh
But I like change, and A-Eons current website is change, and not basically what most websites are nowadays.
Your site is good, but A-Eons current website is gimmicky yes, but this also makes their site different, and a tad more unique then just a simple webpage.
I know, I can talk with my own website looking so simple and not unique.
I never said your mock up sucks, I like your mock up, but I just think A-Eons has got that extra touch, and well, overal is different to the norm.
Addmittedly if you dont use the internet much, you may not find out any information, but I am sure most people looking at their website, can find the Click word where the boing ball logo is, and then the tabs on their Current website.
Overall, I wouldnt complain over either site as being A-Eons website, your mock up or their current one.

Just realised, A-Eons current site laso reminds me of using an Amiga, whereas your is simply commoner site.
If you click on all four tabs at the bottom, you can move the opened up windows around the screen to suit, and have all four open at once, NICE.
This really reminds me of my Machine Im using at home,
Also I like their close gadget is exactly like the Amiga OS.
Sorry, just had to add that after more thorough lok of the overall feel of A-Eons current website.
Try using it in IE, Firefox, etc, and not OWB, then it really is quiet nice to use.
OWB is ok, their site, but seems like my OWB is also a tad slower indeed then other web browsers on other systems.
Cheers

Update: I am no artist, but I decided to make my own a-eon logo 'effort' in a suitable gradient and amigaone x1000 logo too rather that browser verdana font . Font is Eurostile, freely available, my favourite font atm.

Works! Good. But I have small complain on A-EON site, I have registered to recieve updates via e-mail and just did not get any confirmation, code or info.
Fantastic design! It's much better than their current page in that yours actually functions reliably. My prejudice is toward information so I like the black and white layout: it makes the color "pop" and it's easier to see the links.
I just got my confirmation from A-Eon today (June 28, 2010), dated June 27, 2010. Seems they had some sort of problem with their email facility. Email problems, website anomalies, hmm . . . and engineering a new computer? Even if the product is good, this isn't great marketing. If memory serves me correctly, marketing has always been a weakness in Amigadom.
I'm still hoping, though, for a marketing strategy that makes some sense.
cudos to @djrikki, the web site looks nice. I'm not sure which website is better, I like the original a-eon site because it mimics OS4 OTOH the mockup is more "classical" in it's design an people might be more accustomed to it..
I thought about a background layer of an Amiga window to 'Amiga-ise' it a bit, but most definitely not the default Amiga windows settings as they remind me of the Commodore/Golden years too much in other words they suck ass.

Nooooo! They are really beautiful & one of the things I love about OS4. I still haven't found a theme which looks better...
edit: Actually, not quite true, since I have since switched to the "Sultry" version of the default theme, but I have a hard time choosing between that & the default default.
