@kas1e I'm away from home at the moment, actually I'll be commuting from a nearby sea-side location to the office (and back there) for this week, so I won't be able to use my Sam for a few days If when I come back you still need the info I will check it out!
@328gts Are you sure you're not running the kernel in debug mode? do you send Lodepaint to its own screen or does it run windowed? (my test was in window mode with the window expanded to fill the entire screen) at 640x480x32 you should get around 20FPS when idle, and around 13 or 14 FPS while drawing.
ah ok that might be it..though i really did'nt change anything in the settings?? I'll play with it tonight..thanks for the info & sorry to hear you'll be away from your Sam for a few days
@RaxerX Basically i am in high interest if you can also test it like that way as i pointed for Dax. Because looks like you only one for who lockup are the same reproducable on the same place all the time. IF no lockup for you will be when MemGuard are running at background, then, its already something positive for found the bastard.
Tried it twice with MemGuard running in the background. It locks up exactly the same way. 3 button reset does not work.

Today author fix all the problems related to memory leaks which show him ValGrind tool on linux => i will compile that version today, and maybe it will fix your problem.
@328gts Well, we can find out if they indeed are the reason for the speed ups, Kas1e has them installed and I also remind Samo mentioning Aquaria as its favorite new game (so he should have them too), let us know your results after installing them!
Better talk about ValGrind in valgrind-thread :) But yes, having ValGrind on OS4 will help a lot every coder. Because for now, we have only crappy old-kind toolz, which not so good at all.
Author also ask me, can i load LodePaint to GDB on aos4, and show him all the problem, on which all what i can say to him : "we do not have working gdb". Even if i just trying to load LodePaint to GDB, it's just crashes (it just can't load binary at all).
I tryed to reproduce your problem, and on that moment not everything clear: Quote:
- Click 'Save' - Nothing seems to happen - Wait several minutes - Still nothing seems to happen so I click the 'Cancel' and close buttons
Because if you can press Cancle, then you not press Save before (because after Save done, window self-closed). So, looks like you click one save too fast (yes, that suck), and it was do nothing, then you press changel, and by some unluck have freeze ..
Anyway, i already compiled latest version (with bug fixing which happenes over Valgrind cheker), but that HIT which i catch by memguard when i do "new/ok" are still here. So dunno, will it make sence if i will upload new version or not. If you in interest to try , i can upload it. If not, i will try to fix that HIT for first..
@trixie Yes, just not reply to you because not trying to include it for now (want to fix all that bugs firstly), but thanks of course :) Will do it for next release.

When I click 'Save' the button changes color as you would expect, but nothing else happens. The window stays open and no file is saved, not even a partial file. After waiting I'll try clicking the Cancel and close buttons but they do nothing, not even change color.
I guess try fixing that HIT. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will fix my problem too.

@ALL Just to inform: I found in what place memguard give us a HIT, so, no more HIT. Also author fix all errors which he found by ValGrind, and right now i working on adding SaveAS with new ASL/Reaction selector done by Trixie
@kas1e Exciting news! Amiga for me meant 3D and image editing more than games (or "as much as" at least ) and while modern 3D is covered by Blender, modern image editing it's not.
Initially Lodepaint seemed broken and alien, but with all these fixes and ASL load and saves it's a whole different story (heck add an Amiga theme and an Arrex port and it's as Amiga as it gets ).
This app seems poised to become the de-facto standard now, specially if the author will include layers with blending modes ASAP.
