Another Amiga X1000 VCF mention on the web

The second time I've seen the X1000 mentioned on this website, this time during a report on the VCF;

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2010 ... computing-festival-2010/3

Sold up all my Amiga gear, not only an Amigan via Amiga Forever!

Hi Tommo,
Nice to be mentioned, although the half of a marquee that was the Amiga section was hardly mentioned(probably the biggest single computer section in the show) and no mention of ACubes 460ep and Steve Jones' Imica. I thought it was rather dismissive of the A1X1000 too.
However, the weekend was brilliant, both the VCF and Bletchley Park itself were so interesting.

That simply is not true - at http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2010 ... computing-festival-2010/3 I read this:

"Describing his early use of a beta-test version of an A-Cube next-gen Amiga using an AMC 440 667MHz CPU, Dickinson explained..."

Dickinson also revealed a bonus designed to tempt those Amiga fans who have never made the move to next-generation hardware, in that A-EON is "trying to build in software some compatibility with the classic [Amiga] range," with one developer working on the project putting together "an Amiga Classic distro - completely reproducing a fairly souped-up Amiga Classic system - but on [the X1000] in software [to] give the classic people a link into it so they can at least take it on board as they haven't so far with the next-generation Amigas."

"Incredibly loud set of fans" ??????

I don't know what they were hearing, but I have the machine here, and I know that it's totally silent. I have to look at the debug leds on the board to determine whether it's on or off...

Sorry, in a time where PC's actually NEED a water cooling to be endurable, this is ridiculous...

The ACCU (Association of C/C++ Users) I belong to also reported on seeing the new Amiga at Bletchley Park in their magazine.
