no, i tried from disk too, i had the same hunch as you.
amiga python doesn't like unix paths much, and in many cases unix paths are used..
i don't know how to get by that one.

currently pygame has problems with jpeg files and with xm files. these ain't that common, but it's annoying.

lunaroid.lha imho very crappy :) Even zx-spectrum graphic better thatn this one :) Maybe better make some kind of "Crap_Python_games" ?

But "Arcade Tonk Tanks" and "4st attack" looks very nice !

Maybe ssolie or Rogue maybe help us with that _ctypes opengl module related stuff ?

Haha, yes, many other ones are most worse and crappy. But, there is also few more or less of good quality. Just check what we already port on os4 yesterday/today:

They all imho pretty nice one. With nice graphics and nice music. They of course a bit "simply", but looks and feels good.

Yes that's true, sadly my actual preferred game (Mobius Skies) is unusable

I will ask the magic HunoPPC, he is a wizard when we talk about optimization on Sam, but he is on vacation too ..

Come on! How can you not like international karate??? It's a classic! Games are not all about high resolutions, 3d and many colours you know. :) Lunaroid ain't a killer game, no, but i like metroid and i thought it was a nice 24h effort and i got nostalgic.

Yeah well it was fun and cutting edge when I was 14... not so much now

Ofc it is still possible to play 20+ yr old games in 2010, but they have must graphics that don't look they have been drawn by a 5 yr old. Foreinstance I still play Captive, okay/pretty good graphics mixed with great gameplay; resolution isn't high, but graphics are well detailed. Remake someone?!

Btw, i tryed to found today any of "more or less" good application done on python , and found some painters, but all painters from pygame.db suck very much (but works). Will try to search more, for sure internet should have any good python based painter imho :)

I also tryed Ardentryst. Looks pretty nice, but does not works for me, just spawn a black window, and then nothing happenes.

ps. Btw, "arcadett.lha" crashes heavy (check comment on os4depot)

Aniway now i'm playing with Barbie Seahorse Adventure, this is very nice miggy altrough a bit slow again on my Flex (but playable!)

Great efforts mate, only problem are that certain games need to be optimized a little more

i will not try to optimize games, i lack the skills.
