Fuzion designed that skin, and is working on that again.

I just wanted to show that the skin system is pretty flexible and can handle skins from other players as well.

Cheers,
Bean.

What about smooth edges? 32bit, or this a OS limitation?

The whole skin can be designed in 32bit ARGB, but window edges are either on or off. I await the next SDK to see if any improvements have been made in this department - I'm not a beta tester.

Cheers,
Bean.

That screenshot looks great btw

I'm afraid though that the window shaping hasn't changed, as you say it's either on or off. Smoothed edges would require a real compositing, i.e. allow transparency of windows on an alpha-channel base.

We *are* planning to add Porter/Duff IC in a future version of the OS, but it will require a complete rewrite, from the ground up, of the graphics system. Planning stage has started, I have some pretty neat ideas for it, but implementation will take a good while.

Seriously, if you do want to contact me write me a mail. You're more likely to get a reply then.

Thanks! That OS it's running on is pretty neat too!

Ah - that's good news! I can image it will take some considerable time, but I look forward to hearing more about it in the future.

Window borders aside we've got some great effects you can do within the skin, especially with the overlay of ARGB layers. And the best bit is it's all described in an easy to use XML file format.

I'll post more shots as we go.

Cheers,
Bean.

Yes, I got this too from playing the CD via AIFF. Made sure I was set to 'gapless' and it played perfect for about 3 tracks and then stopped. Locked up the tray.

I went through all my AHIUser stuff and TN is the only device turning a control off -- sound off; no resources available. This the SDL message port. Every other audio device interacts with SDL with no problems. ????

A big reason why I don't use TN!

@Snuffy

Hey there.

What SZAMAN described was a bug I fixed in the latest service release. What you are talking about is the fact that TuneNet uses the Music unit directly.

To get round this you can install the "Device" audio driver. From this archive:

http://os4depot.net/index.php?functio ... ile=audio/misc/ahiusr.lha

Copy just the "DEVICE" audio driver to devs:audiomodes

...and copy the "device.audio" to devs:ahi.

No need to copy anything else.

Reboot and select the Device 0 driver in TuneNet.

..and that's it.

One day I'll change TuneNet to uses Unit 0 directly as well, but for the moment I've got too many other things on my plate.

Cheers,
Bean.

@Snuffy,

Ah well, I ended up coding the request in the end.
Unit 0 mode is in and working (as well as the standard Music Unit). This will mean you can use it with other apps without it locking the audio device without any special device drivers. I'll probably release it tomorrow night after testing.

Cheers,
Bean.

I've been playing with Kubuntu as of late and it has a kewl player called Amorock. It has a kewl "Lyric fetcher" plugin. Any chance of this being incorporated into TuneNET ?

Are we nearly there yet ?

Hope it is the right place to post

Sometimes when i move the slide bar of " Time " in " Tune " happens that TuneNet stop playing the mp3 or goes to the next song..

That's what happens to me..

The buzz I refer to is the behind the scenes one. I'm really looking forward to showing the full skin but I don't want to show it too soon. Got quite a bit of refining to do but it'll be worth it. Bean is a quality programmer & he's making it so easy to do some pretty special stuff with the skins. The creative people out there will love it.
