I always laugh when i see people, who have never owned an AmigaOne, going on about how unreliable they are, and how broken they are, when mine has been very reliable for years. DMA, ethernet, USB, everything that is "supposedly" broken works great for me with OS4. I guess I just don't know what I'm talking about, eh?
I just posted in the last forum, Just read back wot I wrote and thort ummm, perhaps I shouldnt have replied!! Dunno, some people just know how to get a reaction out of me!!!!!!!!

I agree about the XE. However, my A1c was the flakiest Amiga I have even owned. Especially if you compared it to my earlybird XE. I spent a small fortune trying to make it stable. RAM, Cases, Powersupplies, Sii card & Heat sinks. It was always a clone of my XE in terms of the OS4 and both ran a G3 processor.
Yet I had pixel corruption as soon as it warmed up, video was blurry at best. There where milling screw marks in the VGA cooler as if a fan was once fitted. Lockups on data transfers for a board which supposidly had all the SE / XE flaws removed. In the end I had a replacement (addimitidly from the same batch) which had the same problems. Bobsons which came from the same batch also worked fine. I spent a lot of time on the phone with Bobson seeing if he could reproduce the problems I had.
To be honest I was glad to get rid of it in the end as it ended up on my desk at work gathering dust. It was supposed to be a replacement for my XE as I wanted a small footprint home computer.
Maybe I just had bad luck but the a1c's, I had not all I must stress, had terrible stability and I'm not alone as AWN has had numerous threads of blurry video etc. But on the other hands we read reports daily of a1c users (the majority) that don't have problems.
I strongly suspect from my own experiences of the a1c that late mk3 consumer prototypes and or demo boards made it out into the retail chain, maybe only a small percentage but bad boards got out there.
So it is possible to see why some say the things they do about PPC NG Amigas, but really they should only comment if they have had first had experience. I mean if i had not had an XE my opinion could be seriously different due to bad luck.
