MPlayer and DvPlayer again

If every Guru has switched to this forum I'll ask the same here as there is a Guru problem:

"Minor Issue" for me in os4Final I get Recoverable Alert Error 01000009 Task 0X691577.. in every four versions of MPlayer or a Grim Reaper.
Or no display, only sound for a second or so.
Guru Meditation 80000003 Task 0x69458200 Mplayer DSI error
and Snoopy files gets FAIL=LOCK envarc:Ahiemu10kxRecordBuffersize.1 SHARED
etc. also DVPlayer does not work. all with fresh startups. Some common problem
The ENV seem to fail in mostcases in Snoopys:s display. Could send a grab but don't find the button for it in IB.
Now to work, later on then.

Now tried DvPlayer with a real DVD, just a flash on the play button. Not very usefull at all.
Any ideas of this? Thanks.

i have dvplayer same problem..
only sound.. no picture.

i try reinstall it but no help.

Maybe overlay isn't supported for your gfx card yet, try disabling it in the tooltypes, for encrypted dvd playback you will need dvddvplayer.lha from os4depot

only use the last two versions of mplayer (the ones with overlay support), do not try and use SDL video playback, just use the defaults.

With defaults neither, at least I got the black screen now.. Maybe the Radeon 85000LE which is not supported? Before I could watch videos but not anymore. Call this progress.

the overlay on the 8500 it's not supported,
in DVPlayer disable it in the tooltype icon,
with mplayer use the sdl video output.

Don't forget that with the previous AOS4 version
we doesn't have the overlay at all.

yep it's the LE rather than the 8500, LE's are weird cards.

Now I had it, got my last guru and got fed up with this 8500LE. No games, no fun. No Video display. With SDL or without. All these common systems work and I'm satisfied with them.How come these (in topic)worked before??? Should I "back"-install the Pre-versions of os4?

What would be the best and most optical (Radeon?) graphics card for the A1XE today which is supported?

I could by one and dump the old one just for the sake of insanity... Or does the hopefully comming updates better the situation?

I've spent quite a lot for this hobby so a new graphics card isn't a big investment.

Should a Radeon 9xxx be better. Mine is telling now that 47
Mb is free so I assume it is a 64MB card. Then the upgrade should be even better with more mem;)

Oh there are these never ones at the shops so I could get a second hand for a few ?..

Just for curiosity if some wants I list the approximate prices + - few euros for an example:

Agp Asus Radeon 9250 128Mb 35?
Sapphire Radeon 9550 256Mb 60?
HIS Excalibur Radeon X850 Pro 256Mb 249?...

The Pci-Express seems to be the newer thing with 512 or 1024Mb usually but ona can dream about these stuck with APGx2 ;)

Just turn off overlay in dvplayer tooltypes. NOOVERLAY as far as I remember.
For mplayer you should use a different output video format.

Overlay doesn't work Radeon8500 yet. It needs more work. Until that switch off overlay and you will see the movies again.

A fast reply please? What kind of memory does the A1XE need as there is a Kingston 512MB allready. Another 512 is been shopped nearly. Was it DDR1-2, no, what kind of ? Thanks

I ordered The TM-magazines winner Colour-Laser printer at the same time as the Radeon(128Mb for about 37?) and some 512Mb Kingston for the A1. All are put "returnable" if doesn't work for me. Will be hearing soon from me. This and that don't work... Hopefully not;)

The Voodoo is old? If it works, its great!

If the ram doesn't work check the hardware list on Intuition Base. You can check to see if the ram you already have will work in pairs.

If it isn't check Ebay for a pair that is supported. I had 256MB of Crucial ram and wanted to get another 512MB. I never got to find out that configuration worked, because I managed to get used pair of 512 stick for half the price of one 512 including shipping from the US.

I'd tell you what ones they were but the heatsinks I added are clipped on too tight to remove, I just broke a precision screwdriver driver trying to loosen a clip. Now there's dedication.
