OS 4 or 4.1 on Pegasos 1?

Hi peoples,

I've searched all over the internet, but can't find a definitive answer.

Can the Pegasos 1 run OS 4.1?

Someone mentioned a patch to me, but I can't find anything...

No, it can't. Only the Peg is supported by AmigaOS 4.1.

Only the Pegasos 2 boards are support by OS4.1. According to one of the AmiWest videos the Pegasos 1 version was too unstable to be released.

I did not know that it has been tested that far. Maybe they should have finished it, maybe not.
I dont thinkt there are too many of these hardwares out there still, so maybe they would not have sold too many. Pegasos 2 was a better idea and it is much faster!

Especially the version for old PPC-Amigas was a good idea because they have sold many licenses as I have heard. They will also update this version, which is a good idea, because this is how the money flows in. I think they need quite lots of money for X1000 development.

It's a shame they didn't finish it, i believe there is quite some Peg 1 out there.

Yes, I can buy one right now if I want for cheap.

If it could run 4.1 I would indeed buy it. But with only options those already available for my more powerful Mac Mini...why bother?

I think you misunderstood me.

The Pegasos 1 is now off my "to buy" list, as it won't run OS4/4.1.

What I mean't was that if limited to MorphOS as an Amiga-ish OS, it's not as good as what I already have, so not worth buying.

I still want to try OS4/4.1 :) I'll just need to keep looking & saving for other hardware.
