Perfect, but I see a slight decrease in VIDEO BUS (READ). Before with the Sam440ep_Setup tool went to 32 MB/sec and now to 29 MB/sec. Is that normal?

Would it be possible to do a SysSpeed benchmark ?

Amiga 4000T, CSPPC@233Mhz, mediator

It would be interesting to compare MIPS results of this benchmark program and classic systems MIPS benchmarks.

Do we have the source code of SysSpeed ?

Would be nice to run on OS4 systems and create a final bridge of benchmarks from classic machines to PPC.

What i don't understand is:

With Sam Setup only
READ: 32 MB/Sec

After both patches (PCI and Sam Setup)
READ: 29 MB/Sec

Why we lost 3 MB/S ?

I can't explain you why, but I can assure you this won't change anything. To be honnest, I'm not sure going from 25 MB/sec to 250 MB/sec will make a real difference.

Video memory is "never" read.

EDIT: Ho, well, on software like SREC, sure this value will make a hudge difference, since it's raw video memory reading... Appart from that...

The two patches did make a difference! Before, videos above 640x480 were jerky but now I can play DVD resolution smoothly using DvPlayer. Also, demos and games under E-UAE are noticeably faster now.

I just posted this in the News comments, but it also seems to fit here.

Regarding MPlayer and DVplayer.
I have no idea why, but neither player would present a DVD playback without extreme
frame skipping and voice way out of sync while using the standard CD/DVD connection
of the 440ep/667MHz. To get decent playback the SATA cable had to be plugged into
the connector under the HD standard connector (port 1 in MPlayer GUI).

Those problems, and others, are now gone after doing just the pci-mini-update. The
sam440ep_setup has also added to the performance of the Sam.
