Yeah, this post its in Amiga Classic Games, wrong Subforum
Anyway, i dont know why some people here talk about A1, or others, i think here is talking about Amiga Classic models..
I can`t decide on just one Amiga Model, but
A1200 - More productive - has future vision - unfortunately did not improve the sound - Upgrade A1000 - Was the first! A2000 - More options to expand A4000 - Same A2000, but AGA and IDE Conectors A500 - Most Amiga Popular Model A600 - The Size - Its really nice CDTV - Very Rare Home Entertainment Console CD32 - Game Console - Not much support - Was nice Game Console A3000 - never caught my attention
My favorite Amiga is the A1200. I'm hoping that the NatAmi MX will replace it someday though.
Maybe someday I'll find enough desk space to set up my MicroA1 and A1200. It's a pity to have to be stuck on only mainstream computers most of the time.
1- my 1200 with Blizzard 030@50 2- my 500 with A590
I lusted for a 4000 back in the day but alas I was only a poor student back then & never got around to buying one even today..maybe when I finally finish my basement one day
Favorite had to be the 2000, followed by the 1000 and 1200. Is that too many? My 1200 finally died in 2006 after selling the rest of them and had to get the A4000T. Really have packed it with memory, USB, X-surf card, 3 hard drives and a Cybervision card. I did the most with the earlier models but still have plans to push the A4000T. No plans for the newer models since they lack the software blitz the old ones still enjoy. If they think of OS4 for the classic and some new accelerator for an A4000T I'd have to push it. Quite a box the Amiga, too bad some Brilliant mind like Jobs or Gates did not mastermind it. They might have ruined it. Kind of cult the Amiga.
My first Amiga: A500 (1.3) My most expanded Amiga: A1200(Extra RAM and battery backed Clock), I'm not very adventurous. My current machine: Sam 440 My Favourite: My next one, whatever it is.
When I got back to Amiga I first refurbished my A2000 but I also saw an A1200 on ebay which came with several WHDloads pre-loaded on the HD. I seriously thought about it, but then visited Pianeta2009 and decided I wanted to try NG first (postponing the 1200 purchase).
Time has passed and I feel no need for a classic anymore. if you happened to read my GUIDE you already know it's because I found a classic hiding inside my NG, and I now feel i have both all rolled into one.
So Amiga NG for me, a true 360 degree Amiga experience.
SamFlex Complete System + AmigaOS4.1 Update 4 Amiga 2000 GVP GForce-040 Picasso II AmigaOS3.9 BB2 Amiga CD-32
+1 with regard to NG miggies (btw, thanks again for that great write up & also to Simone for glUAE & Chris for RunInUAE!) but I just love fiddling/ hacking along with my classics from time to time because I have the space in my house fortunately.
