How to use .PNG on AmigaOS 4.1?

Hi all i want to use .png icons on my sam440ep as i want to change my quake icons with some nice png icons any help would be appreciated.

Grab png_im.lha from OS4Depot and install per included instructions and reboot. Then rename .png to .info.

Personally I think the better way is to right-click an existing icon, then import your .png into it and delete the alternate image (all from within icon information). That way no-one needs to download a 3rd party utility.

I agree. This way icons are still Amiga icons and they are as nice as PNG images.

Ive tried it through the icon information but when i change it all i see is a picture of an eye?

Well i downloaded the png_im.lha and ive extracted it but all i see is the files, two word files and a screwdriver icon double clicked the screwdriver icon executed it and all i get is "file is not executable"?

You need to create Libs:IconModules and put it in there.

This is one of the cases where an Installer script should have been included but wasn't.

Always read the readme, docs, whatever in the archive you downloaded for information about how to install something, unless there are an installer included offcourse. However, there are often some interesting information anyway.
