Sam460 *are* in stock!

Hi there,

Looking at various dealers I didn't find a Sam460 available so I wanted to tell you they are in stock at ACube Systems.
Ask them directly...

Alternatively the boards are available at Relec

No wonder the sales are low if the board is so difficult to get.

Difficult? You know how to send an email? So there's no problem :-p

Still the same story. We'll do nothing to sell more hardware! If someone wants a Sam, we'll let him scan through dealer pages only to find in the end that none are in stock, but that a nice e-mail to the manufacturer might do the trick. Unless they are on holiday, that is.

What an innovative, groundbreaking way to do business!

Or taking the glass-half-full view, perhaps Sam460 are out-of-stock because they are selling better than expected? In which case this will be shortly resolved (and this would seem to be likely given that ACube apparently have them in stock).

Seriously. I like ACube and their products - after all, their Sam 440ep has been with me for more than two years now, and I've had a wonderful time so far. I'm also happy about the things Max Tretene is doing to improve the performance of the boards.

But I don't understand why now, when there are at least two Sam models currently in production, we ever arrive at a situation that there's nothing to buy! "It's a small market" we keep hearing. Well I say, don't blame the market if you behave like there was no market at all.

Yes the sam hw is of good quality.
I had my sam440ep for about 3 years. And i've had the 460 aswell. No problems with either.

When i had the XE the cpu fan suddelny fell off and that was the end of that one.

Being a former "amiga" dealer I can tell you this: Vendors dont want to Overstock high priced boards like this. They would rather understock and order more.. Amikit does this alot with Individual products.

Dont forget these are small companies and dont want to tie up thousands of euro in stock in a small market.


Man, what happened to the old Relec one case? That thing was super modern looking? With the swiss franc out of control no north american can get one though!

During the summer, ACube only offered the SAM 460ex 1GHz "lite" edition as a direct option as they thought this was a better commercial thing to do than sell through resellers. Duing this time, we were not permitted to stock these SAM460ex motherboards.

After re-consideration, ACube have now offered us the SAM 460ex 1GHz "lite" edition, we have decided to restock the boards as well as the regular 460ex systems. We have three packages available:

Any idea if you will be supplying any more Sam440s?

£775 for a (basic) Sam460 system seems good compared to what I must have originally paid for a (much lower spec) Sam440 when it first came out! I wonder if it would even be possible to sell Sam440 system today much lower than that Sam460...
