PUSH4Dock - here is an upgrade for it

I have an assign USR: which points to the user directory then I can use http://localhost/~aldur/ to point to the USR:aldur/public_html/ directory

when PLUS4 came out I installed it and noticed that it used the Volume WORK: for the assigns

so I thought about it the fact is that some people have a WORK: assign/volume and some don't

so what I did was change the work: to workspace: thus if I had an existing work: volume it wouldn't interfere,

basically my girlfriend has her own user directory for storing files now with plus4 I can just change the assign of workspace to point into her directory and all her folders pop up really easy for her to use


what I want now is a script that will allow me to specify a user name and it changes the assign

ie
>switchUser aldur

runs "assign workspace: usr:aldur"

You could use requestchoice command in your startup sequence which could copy a specific set of .prefs files to evnarc:sys

Or once workbench is up something like

Assign Assign: PathtoAssign: Remove

To get rid of your unwanted assigns

You could have for example two directories

Aldurprefs and AldurGFPrefs with the following files in for example.

GUI.prefs
Font.prefs
WBPattern.prefs
Palette.prefs
Workbench.prefs

Copy AldurPrefs/#?.prefs to env:sys QUIET to switch prefs.
The script could then have you new assigns in it.

Just a start perhaps for something you could expand on.

Thats a great idea that way she can have a picture of me on the desktop when she uses the computer hee hee

would you be able to change the assigns after workbench has loaded ie to switch.

Installed and uninstalled it! Where's the editor?

Click on the dock, and the right-click for the menu options, you will either get the pop-up, or drop-down Ami-Dock menu depending on how your system is configured and just select edit.

You can then add new categories, or sub-docks to your hearst content.
