good to hear she's alive

this same situation has happened to me many times when slapping together various pc systems & I can't tell you how many times systems started working again mysteriously after being fully stripped down and reassembled with the exact same components

@TheDaddy
Seems like broken ram module to me. Handle the ram carefully, they don't take static electrisity very good, and can break.
Get a new one if the flkex won't start.

I have got this feeling that it might be the memory.

I have 1GB on the SAM Flex and both memory sticks don't work in the 440ep nor in the flex. The flex is still dead (working on it...).

The only 512MB left I had I have put it in the 440ep and it works with the generic 400W PSU but not with the 550W 80Plus PSU!

Now I have another problem:

Booting from OS4.1 CD, it loads and says starting Kickstart (or something like that) then I get the OS4.1 screen and it sits there doing nothing. The keyboard works (if I press Caps Lock the LED comes on) but it won't do anything else.

Ideas?

Do you have the ethernet connected? If it does not find an internet connection it can take a couple of mins maybe before continuing. Leave it for 5mins to see if it goes further. Don't you have a hd with os4 installed on allready you can use?

The ethernet cable is not connected. Shall I connect it?

The Sata drive is empty, I put OS4.1 CD with the intention of installing it but it gets stuck on the Amiga OS4.1 screenshot.

Thanks!

No harm in plugging it in. I assume you have put the cd rom and the hd on the right sata ports. Not quite sure but think i remember that you had to use certain ports for dvd and hd.. Check the manual to be sure???

I think the SATA ports are correct. The CD loads and then says Launching Kickstart and the AmigaOS4.1 screen apperas, then nothing.

I'll connect the ethernet port to my switch and see what happens. Thanks.

Shall I just download OS4.1 Update 3 iso and use that?

Success!

Connected the ethernet and it worked.

I have just set up the HD.

SWAP partition (10GB), Workbench (30GB) bootable and automount SFS 512 block, 600 buffer, Work SFS/02.

It's asking to reboot.

Got the OS4.1 screen and waiting...

How do I set the date manually within U-Boot please?
