An introduction to C programming, Live session in UK. - UPDATE!!

Hello all.

I am pleased to announce that Chris, of unsatisfactory software has agreed to hold a one day introductory seminar on programming C on the Amiga (most likely OS4)

The venue and date is yet to be determined, but, I can tell you that I am looking at [Date yet to be determined] as a possible candidate.

If you are interested, please note, that this will cost money, (mainly on the room/hall hire and something for Chris as a thank you) Depending on the number of interested people, it could be around ?20

You willl need to bring your AmigaOne or Compatible (if there is anything new available by then) plus, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc and a power extension lead.

Times have yet to be decided.

If you are interested, please post on this thread, I reckon we need at least 7 interested people to make it viable.

Also, please post your location.
Note: there may be some travelling involved.

People from abroad are also welcome, but they will have to make thier own travel arrangements.

There will never be a better opportunity than this to learn how to write your own software on the Amiga.


Note: This course is aimed at the complete novice, no previous programming experience necessary, just the ability to focus and learn.

Well don't minding taking a day of work but i've gotta know a few weeks in advance longer if during the summer as we get thin on the ground during the holiday period.

Can't do August Bank Holiday - could it not be a regular Saturday or Sunday?

ME very intrested basically my requirement is not dates but rather shopping that I can send my gf (will be wife by then :O ) off for a days shopping

I dont want to start a discussion, I think its simply not possible to teach C programming and Amiga API in one day. It would be better only to focus on the Amiga API for people that have already written some code on other platforms. As I am from southern germany I cannot visit this meeting.

The plan is to do the bare minimum of C, and concentrate on the AmigaOS API. There are enough resources on C for people to learn or expand on that elsewhere.

not at all, I have a vested interest in this too, as I am keen to be shown, the first step.

I am not looking to come away from this knowing everything there is to know about C programming on the amiga, but rather, to get an idea, a first step on the long path.

Now, if we could only get new hardware out there, maybe even Sicky, would attend

Preferably after any release of new OS4 hardware as well, but obviously that's a moving target.
