iPhone with OS4

Is there any way I can connect my iPhone (4) to my SAM460 with Amiga OS 4.1.4?

ie: Access files, music and videos etc.

Does the iPhone support USB MassStorage (i.e., appearing
as a USB MassStorage device), like the android phones do?

I used to use an ancient ipod that did that and was
generally able to copy files to/from with my AmigaOne &
SAM.

But I understood Apple removed that functionality in later
models to keep folks in the itunes ghetto.

It does not show up as an MSD.

The iPods never did, thankfully (this is part of why they are the best players around for most people. Unfortunately it keeps us ghetto types out too).

It is trickier with flash storage based iPod devices than regular HDD devices, though. Your best bet is probably Apod or iPoddisk on OS4 Depot, but I think they are geared towards HDD-bassed iPods.

according to my apple using friends (gag) you'll have to jail break the phone to break the itunes shackles first

Thanks to folks that jailbreaks and makes it possible like masstorage and other stuff .

so how hard is it to jailbreak your Iphone4 with os5.0.1?
i really don't want to risk breaking the phone while JB'ing it.

Hi, search for redsn0w with google/yahoo/.. download v0.9.10b3 or newer (IIRC)

As easy as plug your iDevice. Start redsnow and folloe instructions juts to get Cydia app on your iDevice (no changing baseband or other thign, juts jailbreak to have cydia)

The question is, if you jailbreak, do you see everything with masstorage or you just set a piece of iphone partition just for this. I mean can a user connect the phone to an amiga and see all the music/pictures/sounds etc ?

Can iphone apps see the files you copied to the phone ? Just curious as i havent followed for a long time now how thing is with apple phones.
