THANK YOU! Testing now.

Edit: It works here on Sam440@733 not very fast. The next big step is done, hope now for including hardware accellerated rendering.

For all who don´t read the "ReadMe": Read it ;) First Time it crashes, after reading the text end clearing the font cache it works.

friedens: Thank you and go ahead for speed. Timberwolf is the key for OS4.1.

@thomas/@Rogue

first a huge thanks for the release. it is appreciated. i noticed that the requirements specify OS4.1u5; presumably there is something in that release that is a co-req for the timberwolf beta? would there be any noticeable difference running with the currently available OS4.1u4?

I corrected the web page in the meantime. Update 4 should be sufficient to run Timberwolf. The only thing that might happen (not sure about that) is that it crashes on exit. This was due to a bug in elf.library, and I am uncertain whether the fix for that was in Update 4 or Update 5.

In any case, you should be able to run it with the above strings attached on older versions.

Never crashed for me during first run!

YouTube is certainly a no go area at the moment, yes I too look forward to the hardware acceleration aspect - but of course that'll have to wait til 4.2 arrives as that will go hand in hand with the Gallium effort.

Well done guys, nice to see TW progress to a Beta. :)

Why not use the Composition engine? It's already hardware accelerated.

That bug is fixed in 4.1 Update 4 for all platforms so there shouldn't be any problems there.

Update 5 for non-X1000 platforms still needs to be released. It is on my to-do list.

It doesn't crash at exit here (Update 4) altrough apart the general speed issue some visible bugs still

- It need some time at startup and the window will always opened minimized and at the top of the screen (exactly the same as the old Timberwolf 3.5 release)

- Sometimes the title on the tab(s) will disappear, not a huge issue but still

- I note a strange black box on certain GUI element (the same problem that Rogue showed on his first video)

- Download does not work yet ?

Various and eventual of course, this is only a quick test for me, the main problem for now is the speed (almost on my Sam Flex) but still very nice for a first beta !

Congrats to all involved

P.S.
How about opening a proper bugtracker on bugs.os4depot ?
I think it would be better instead of stress our brothers via email
