X1000 sound question
Just popping in
Just popping in

See User information
A question for First Contact X1000 users with the supplied sound card.

Does your sound system still make a popping sound when starting a CD or
other things after the recent update?

Not if it's the same chip and new driver supplied for the SAM460, all horrible sounds have gone with new driver

SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

That’s not a problem on my AmigaONE-XE whit sound blaster Live combo card, AmigaONE-X1000 does not yet have drivers for on-board sound, as you pointed out first contact customers use standard PCI based sound-cards.

You should adjust AHI to 0 db on all channels, anything above can result in digital clipping that’s when amplitude value becomes too height and you get distortion, default AHI settings is muted, there has been some problems whit wrong volume settings when boot up system, there is program called Mixer on OS4Depot you can use to set volume.

The reason I asked is that I installed a SBLive the day before the update and just noticed that the popping was gone. SBLive? Update?

No big deal, just wondering, and too lazy to put the original card back in.

The SBLive is working like a champ.

Anyway analog CD input on the live card has not worked for me, always played CD audio using Multiview or new PlayCDDA_GUI on OS4Depot they use the CPU to read and play the audio trow the AHI sound system as any other application.
