Forum subdivisions

Since Amigans site is Amiga only I would like to see the forums more divided into specific categories.

Oft times a subject may be slow moving and drop from the front page rather quickly.
Trying to find the thread when it is in the jumble of all other threads in a 'general' forum can be difficult.

For example a thread on A1XE gets lost to the people that still have one because there a many more
threads about Sam440 boards. If the A1XE had its own hardware/software subsection(s) it could be
much easier to find.

Perhaps a poll is in order?

It's what we did in the french AmigaOS 4 portal. Each platform has its forum.

I am not sure if it would be possible to do, but
you could also add tabs on top of the frontpage
top-messages-list.

Or just add a "forum" pull-down menu in the top
pull-down-menu-bar.

I think it fits things nicely. And everyone knows where to look at.

How about "tagging" threads with a list of tags on the site?

that way you can search by tag and not worry about anything else?

I would prefer the solution of tagging the posts. This way the user can give different keywords for a post and not be restricted by the forum divisions.
