Alternative to UtilityBase (for coders of all Amiga-like OSes)

Since UtilityBase went down, I think there has been a gaping hole, because there is nowhere that coders from all Amiga-like OSes can help each other (by sharing knowledge & experience).

OS4Coding.net is fine for AmigaOS4-only topics, but what if you have a problem that applies equally to AmigaOS3 (and thus also AROS & MorphOS)? You could probably get more (faster & better) answers if there was a forum that welcomed coders of all backgrounds.

AmigaDave has suggested the following "social group" on Amiga.org, which acts as a kind of "mini-forum" where only members of the group can post:
http://www.amiga.org/forums/group.php?groupid=44

You need to be registered for Amiga.org, then you can just click to join this group. Joining appears to be automatically approved, but in the unlikely even of there being any trouble-makers, they can be (permanently) kicked from the group.

EAB has Coders.General, Coders.System and subforum Coders.Nextgen but it's not widely known and not used much.

The same with amigans, amigaworld, amiga.org. There are subforums available.

@MickJT
Amigans is AmigaOS-only, so no use for MOS or AROS coders.

Amiga.org has the benefit that only members of the group can post, and if I understand they can also have their own specific moderators, where-as on AW.net anyone can post & you have to rely on the over-worked site mods.

This sounds like being a coder is a disease and coders need to be put under quarantine.

Why do you think that coders need to hide from or be protected against other users?

A public sub-forum would be completely suitable IMHO.

@thomas
??? Sorry, don't get your point at all.

All web sites need moderation (otherwise they end-up like the Moo), even if it's just to keep out spammers, etc. And better if the moderators are actually actively interested in the forum, rather than just relying on other people to report problems & then having to wait for them to get around to dealing with the problem.

You'd tend to get that with a self-contained site like UtilityBase was, but "social groups" (terrible name) on Amiga.org seem like they could be a usable alternative.
