New Quake 3 OS4 version?

Hi guys! Rogue confirmed that he has not the time update Quake 3 for OS4. His port was a "fast" one. Indeed there are few bugs to fix and maybe performance to increase.

I also had confirmation that other users experience freeze in menu and in-game....

I know there are other much more important programs to fix or port... but hey it is the only "modern" game or at least the only FPS which can be played with friends (mac e PC) that is not too old... i would like to have a new version of it... and i hope someone could work on it.

I think our limited development resources are better used for coding better browsers than 8 year old 3D games.

The fact that image of "gaming machine" was a possible factor of Amiga not becoming a ruler of the PC market isn't relevant now. Now a gamer's machine isn't bad stigma as it was these days...
And to finish the Q3 port is considerably easier than to make a better browser.

Can't agree more. Probably Quake 3 is one of the few games all platforms have. Remember as well that it can be used to play mods and have different games.

I'm NOT saying "hey guys, we should port Quake 7"... i say "we don't have any modern game which use our 3D system, why we not finish a port of a free popular game?"

Next month i will host a Quake 3 lan at home, last time there were 6 Macs and 2PCs, i needed to leave A1 off... this time i want to use it

Radov is working on it. He find some bugs, if someone can help he will be welcome for sure.

You can donate as well, he's planning to buy a Sam440.
