I have a slimline external USB DVD writer I use with my netbook. I happened to have left a DVD in it (written under Linux) that I'd tried previously with my usual internal DVD driver on my SAM, and that gave me errors under one particular directory.
Plugged in the USB DVD drive with the same disk, and it read it first time.
I then decided to push my luck a bit and try this USB drive with MakeCD, having no expectation of it being able to write to it.
CD-RW erase: check CD-RW write: check CD-RW session fixate: it took a couple of attempts, and I had to yank the drive out of USB after it had finished to get MakeCD to respond again, but that worked too!
I am amazed; I didn't realise we had such complete USB CD support. Or, indeed, any USB CD support.
