SimpleMail AREXX script

Hi all,
is there an AREXX script available to add file to a mail ?

The idea would be to click on a file on the WB and through contextmenu, having an entry like "send by email" and use AREXX to pass the given file as attachment to a new mail in SimpleMail.

Is it possible at all ? I always feel like this is the kind of thing that would improve our system in being more user-friendly, and not having to open simplemail, create new mail, browse the whole directory tree to find the file to send...

No idea about SimpleMail, but YAM has a WRITEATTACH command so it should be possible there, with a bit of ContextMenu and ARexx magic.

Not possible as far as I can tell (although I am no expert). It would be really handy sometimes.

There appears to be an old feature request for this, but I can't see any way to add a "me too" to show user interest:

too bad... so the whole idea is pointless (at least for Simplemail).

Yes, bad, it must be nice to add attachment in a easily manner.

Just by curiosity, which mailer is the most popular on AmigaOS4 (YAM or SimpleMail)?

Personally, I use SimpleMail, because...

I read this thread by accident. I enhanced SimpleMail's MAILWRITE command with an ATTACHMENT arg. I will also add an argument to command line. Both enhancements should be sufficient to fulfill the purpose you requested.

I recommend to use the feature request tracker next time as I don't regularly crawl the net about feature requests for SimpleMail ;) (even if the request is already in, you may vote for it to get my attraction).

Because, when I use
'MAILWRITE MAILTO test@test.fr ATTACHMENT RAM:Readme.txt' it doesn't work.
of course
'MAILWRITE MAILTO test@test.fr' works.

And are multiples attachments in the same mail works (or will be working) by ATTACHMENT 1 2 3 ... ?

It will be available in 0.39. Please have a look at https://sonumina.de/jenkins/job/SimpleMail/ for latest builds for OS4.

The argument is of type /K/M.

SimpleMail is my only "mailer" because of the native html support !

I hope it is developped further and further...

I tried
MAILWRITE ATTACHMENT RAM:T/USB.LOG RAM:T/USB.LOG
but it failed

it works well like this

MAILWRITE ATTACHMENT RAM:T/USB.LOG ATTACHMENT RAM:T/USB.LOG
