If it exists and is stable I'd like to see it released. Maybe it's just habit but it still the browser I always fire up first.

I don't want to turn this thread into a Timberwolf bug report thread, so just as a heads-up, I hope you have reported this issue elsewhere.

Yes, it's filed as a bug report.
just hope health and time are available to sort it.

btw. today I noticed that www.verkkokauppa.com is very fast in IBrowse. Looks bad and may not work 100%, but interesting how much faster it is on 666Mhz & IB than on 3800+ & Firefox. Nice to use to get some PC component price in a few seconds.

UPDATE...

Try to browse images via google.
IB is superb fast also there (javascript disabled etc it can be stable even)

IBrowse has some very specific uses that I still use very often even today, it would be awesome to see it released

i think if stefan wanted it released, he could just say, 'yeah, go ahead' to oliver's frequent requests. i guess the answer is that it will never be released, which is a darn shame for both the users and the few developers who put so much (unpaid) time and energy into it.

If Stefan doesn't even reply to requests and hasn't even accepted payment for IBrowse since 2007, I'd wager he really doesn't care either way, and probably would not be remotely bothered/even notice if someone just uploaded 2.5 and put it out there?

If you have access to a build, upload it somewhere.

@danwood_uk
Rather than just releasing it, I would send an email (and a physical letter if possible) saying something like: "We plan to release IBrowse v2.5. If we don't hear from you in 28 days then we will take this a sign that you do not object."

That should provide some legal cover (although IANAL).

No chance, apart from being a really bad thing to do the beta builds would soon time out and you'd be back to 2.4.
