Amigans.net a sob story..........(donations)

Fellow Amigans.

We got the required amount for next year's server space, but it looks like we need your help some more.

Our server provider has increased the cost for next year. This means that we are a whopping ?87 Euro's Short to guarantee next year's existance.

If 87 of you could just cough up ?1 euro each, we'd be most grateful

Many, Many thanks.

Mikey C
(on behalf of Amigans.net staff)

So the amigans.net DNS registration entry is owned by Orgin from the whois entry.
The physical server is currently paid for by Godfreys and the advertiser(s).
The hosting provider from a simple traceroute is Hetzner in Germany.

Hetzner put their rate up on the deal?

None of my business I suppose

Yes, that is right, they put the rate up from 33 EURO to 49 EURO a month. The server is their DS3000 product. They blame it on electricity costs (I know Godfreys has almost doubled).

Normally I don't but I just did.

If we see some action on the hardware-front it would
be a shame if Amigan's wouldn't be around anymore
next year.

Have fun - Shadowolf

Hi Mikey_C,

Everything is so much cheaper in Canada and the United States.

Does the server have to be in Europe?

They should buy a Sam board them to replace their servers with.
